san was downstairs with his parents sitting on the couch since sans older sister, haeun, had called them downstairs because she had something she wanted to tell them.

"haeun-ah? what's it you wanted to tell us?" asked san's mom as she saw her daughter pace around the room.

"mom... dad.... sannie... please i'm hoping you understand what i'm going to say..." she said as beads of sweat formed on her forehead.

san's dad cocked his head in confusion and was curious as to why his daughter seemed to be so anxious

sans family was deeply religious they would go to church every sunday making sure never to forget.

haeun took in a deep breathe before telling her family something she already knew they wouldn't accept, she loved her parents but she couldn't hide who she really is from them any longer.

"i'm... im bisexual"

silence.

san's parents froze, not knowing how to react, while san, who already knew since he had helped his sister sneak out with her girlfriend more than a couple of times, just smiled trying to reassure his sister.

"...please say something," she pleaded

"are you... seeing someone?" her mom asked hesitantly

"...yes, i- i have a girlfriend," she muttered

that was her mom's breaking point. she started sobbing while haeun tried to pat her on the back to reassure her but then her dad intervined

"don't touch her," he spat through gritted teeth, "i don't know who you are, my daughter would never date another women! i wont tolerate such disgrace in my family! get out!"

it wasn't that she didn't expect them to react like that, she had told her girlfriend prior that this may occur so she provided a room for her, but seeing it all actually happen still hurts. seeing her parents willing to disown her only cause of her sexuality hurt her.

san wanted to say something but before he could his sister had already ran out while tears flooded her eyes.

it had been 4 months since then and her parents still haven't spoken to her, she tried inviting them to dinner but they refused. she tried calling them but they declined. she tried going to their house but they didn't let her in. she tried and tried but they didn't want to talk to her. to them they only have a son. a son they hoped would never disappoint them.

2 years later haeun and her girlfriend are engaged and are planning their wedding. her parents didn't show up so her girlfriends dad, whom was supportive of them, walked her down the aisle.

on her way out with her -now- wife, she saw her parents.

"m-mom? dad?" she said staring at them with tears in her eyes. her wife squeezed her hand to reassure her that if something goes wrong she'll get her out of there.

her parents didn't look her in the eye, all they did was give her a bag and then they left. no words were spoken. which broke her heart honestly.

san, who was on the side, walked up to his sister and hugged her, "congratulations noona," while looked at his sisters wife and nodded as if he was saying 'i'm leaving her to you' and so he did.

san had to go to a college and he didn't have the time to visit her a frequently but he's happy he got to see her before he left, since the college he was attending was in seoul.
