flashback

a day after mr. and mrs. han showed up in that restaurant, san was walking back to the dorms when he noticed two figures walking up to him, he instantly recognized them.

san unlocked his phone and opened an app, but he closed his phone after they got close enough to him.

he was about to walk past them, hoping they wouldn't want to talk,

"oh hello!" mrs. han said

"...hi" san cautiously replied

"san was it? you seem to be a good friend of wooyoung am i correct?"

"..." san just stared suspiciously at her not replying

"i take that these kind of things doesn't work on you? fine then, come over, we have a lot to talk about,"

"i don't have anything to talk to you about if you don't mind-"

"i mind. now come on, the tea is already brewing, don't want it to get cold,"

san stared at them as they walked off, he shouldn't have gone back with them, but something tells him he's gonna benefit from it.

"so san," mrs. han said as she took a sip of the tea, "how did you two meet?"

"...we go to the same uni"

"aha, i'm guessing those other young men that were with you yesterday also go to the same uni?"

again no response from san, "i'm gonna take your silence as a yes..."

"just so you know, i'm recording our conversation." san stated

this time they were the ones who didn't reply,

"i'm guessing you don't want us to talk-" san was interrupted

"no, it's fine record it, not like you'll be able to use it," she said, the last part was a whisper, almost to herself.

san sat back down and waited for whatever they really wanted to talk about,

"i take it that you know?" mrs. han said

"know?"

the look mrs. han gave him instantly told him what she was talking about,

"yes..."

"you must be special, wooyoung has never told anyone..." she said taking another sip of her tea, "why exactly do you hang out with him? i mean from what i can tell none of your other friends seem too fond of him,"

"it doesn't really matter whether my friends like him or not, i like him. and i don't need a reason for hanging out with him, if anything the reason he's like this is well... you."

mrs. han expression turned cold, she let out an exaggerated laugh, "me? was what i did really that bad? you know, for someone who killed your daughter, i'd say what i did wasn't nearly enough,"

"wasn't nearly enough? you must be delusional, are you seriously blaming him for the death of your daughter? i may not know her but from what i've heard she was a kind and warm-hearted human being, unlike her parents of course, what led to your daughter's death wasn't wooyoung, it was you."

mr.han stood up, furious but mrs.han held his hand telling him to sit back down,

"tell me mrs. han, torturing him, both physically and mentally, was that 'not nearly enough' for you?"

another pause of silence

"i wouldn't call what i did torturing per say, i'd call it teaching him a lesson? and yes, it wasn't enough," she put down her cup, "i wanted him dead for what he did to my daughter,"
