I think this might be the last chapter I'll have to do of this because it's soon after this that disaster struck.
On New Year's Day, Maddie and Lisa woke up with raging hangovers but Maddie sobered up quickly enough when they told her she'd have to tell Stevie she kissed another boy. Lisa was just young and snapped back quickly.
Marcy took her out to the backyard and showed her that her playhouse was finally built. Juan and Carla were out there as well for a playdate and the little trio had a blast.
When Marcy came inside to go up to her room, the doorbell rang. She went to answer it and discovered police. She felt fear for a moment but they asked to talk to her specifically.
She grabbed a coat and stepped into her boots so she could leave with them.
Later she comes back and tells her siblings the bad news. Dana was involved in a drunk driving collision when coming home from her job as a bartender. It was fatal.
They were all shocked and dismayed but then Lisa came running in wanting cookies and hot chocolate. Marcy had to tell her what happened to her mommy.
Their parents didn't care but Marcy threatened them into paying for Dana's funeral. She told Jeanette she couldn't plan Mike's eighteenth birthday party in two days if they didn't. Russell didn't care but Jeanette did.
So they paid.
Dana's funeral was the next day and the siblings dressed appropriately. Puck and Nic went as well but made sure to stay out of the way. Marcy planned the entire funeral because Dana's mother was too distraught. Plus Marcy was Dana's emergency contact and power of attorney (for some strange reason).
The ceremony was beautiful and Marcy gave the eulogy. She and her siblings sang Dana to glory but was also singing to their baby sister. They sang Avril Lavigne's Goodbye. There wasn't a dry eye in the church.
Afterwards when it was time to say their final goodbyes, Lisa made Mike hold her as she put a hand on her mother's coffin.
They left and went home.
Mike's birthday was the next day (January 3rd) and he had a blowout but his friends wondered why he was so solemn. Why all of his siblings were so solemn.
They didn't open up but did perk up so people would quit asking.
Also I remembered that Marcy did win Autumn Queen. Their friends won quite a few titles to dances during the fall, including Tina winning Winter Queen with Mike.
I timeskipped again and went to April. I still told about things that's happened during that jump and Marcy won Hearts Queen from the Sweetheart's Dance while she and the rest of the glee club did singing telegrams for the whole school. She sang songs to Mal to show him that she was his and did the same for Ellen (including the PussyCat Dolls song for the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, Jai Ho).
It was all very romantic and it was brought up how Coach Sylvester was pregnant and lots of other stuff.
Anyway, in April, it was finally hot enough to go sailing so the siblings went to Marcy's yacht and spent the day hanging out on the water.
That was as far as I'd gotten.
How do you like things so far?
Well, I wrote a couple chapters out of order but they were experimental chapters. One was Puck's mom, Nadine is introduced. Marcy is sick and everyone catches her germs because they don't want to leave her alone so Puck goes to get the door because he was coming from the kitchen with warm milk.
