Jennifer finally came back from her trip only to find her daughter in lonely stupor, sitting in her room... Doing nothing but staring at the ceiling...

"Bethany darling, I brought you some souvenirs!"

No response

" B-bethany?, What's wrong darling.... "

Jennifer sat beside Bethany's bed and lies down by her side, stroking her hair...

"Something bothering you?, Tell Mommy about it, or I'll get worried... don't tell me you've started your periods and you're in pain"

Bethany could hear the humor in her mother's voice, so she laughed along
" Not yet Mom, it's just.... " She hesitates

" Just what? Go on "

" Well, remember Angel? She's been sick for forever now and I haven't seen her since............. I miss her"

Jennifer smiles
" Is that all?, If you want to see her so badly, I can arrange it, she's the only one my introverted daughter cares so much about after all"

Hearing that, Bethany seemed to be her old self again and gives her mom a hug

" really? Thanks mom!"

A few days later, Jennifer fulfills her promise and arranges a visit for Angel, but since she was still sick and partially weak, it had to be at night and she'll visit for only less than an hour, but that was enough for Bethany.

Bethany was ecstatic seeing Angel get down from her mom's car, but she noticed something was different about her, she was thinner than she used to be and it scared Bethany... So much so that she frowned..... But later had to smile

"Angel!"

"Bethany! I missed you"

"You had no idea how much I missed you, I almost lost it, hurry you're leaving soon... Let's go to my room"

As soon as they got to the room, Bethany took the chance to kiss Angel, as soon as they broke apart, Bethany asked

" So..... Tell me, what illness do you really have, because I'm not buying this Malaria bullshit, and why have you lost so much weight?!, Even gravity can't help you when the wind blows in your direction!, You should force yourself to eat, at least for my sake!"

Hearing Bethany express her worries like that, with different honest facial expressions.... Really warms Angel's heart...
" I'm happy that you're worried about me........ Honestly, I'm really happy..... But there's nothing that can be done.... I've had Anemia for a very long time now and that's the reason why I've been delayed, academic wise...... All I have to do now is eat my veggies and take my prescribed medication, but Malaria really sucked me dry"

"Are you saying you don't have a lot blood now because of that stupid Malaria?...... take care Angel, you will be ok, eat vegetables, lots and lots of stuff containing Iron, get better for my sake if not yours"

" I wi-"

" Angel! Time to head home! " Mrs Angel called out

" I'm coming! "

Both girls head down, Bethany watches as Angel leaves,
'at least I got to see you ' both think at the same time, Angel gets in the car and departs.
