Chapter 2: Leader

You stood there as your dragon dissipated into dust that was carried away with the wind, your scythe was still in your hand, but you desummoned it to show to them that you didn't mean harm. The blonde girl stepped forward and asked: 'Who are you and what are you doing here?' You thought about it for a second. 'Can we go somewhere more private? It's quite a long story, namely,' you answered her. And so you went into some old ruins and sat down on some big, stone bricks. 'So explain yourself,' the golden eyed girl ordered you. 'A long long time ago, and I'm speaking about billions of years ago, there was nothing. And I'm not saying it was a dark place, nor light as the concept of light and dark didn't exist yet. Just close your eyes and tell me what you see,' you said and so she closed her eyes and said: 'I see nothing.' 'Now is it dark?' 'No.' 'Is it light?' 'Not that either.' 'That's exactly what it looked like in the beginning. But from this nothingness two creatures were born, two deities, two brothers, but one was born one second earlier than the other and this would lead to complications later. These brothers bore the names Luminous and Grimm. Luminous was born first and thus became the God of Time, while his younger brother became the God of Space. The concept of time and space exists now and is the very foundation of our understanding of the world.

At their births a lot of gas and dust was thrown into space and Grimm used his powers of space manipulation to create the planets and stars over time, and these stars we still see to this day. Luminous claimed the day and light, stating that he was born first and this should have the first choice, this left Grimm with the night and darkness, but he wouldn't forget about this. The planets were still barren and devoid of any life, so Luminous created water and plants and animals and monsters and humanity and they all lived together in piece and harmony. But the creatures blossomed on these new worlds and their numbers became so big that there wasn't enough food anymore and they all became hungry, but didn't die yet. Also the planets became so crowded that there simply wasn't enough space anymore for new life, and so Luminous turned to his brother to do something about it, since he couldn't bring himself to kill his own creations. And thus Grimm, created death and decay, he also created erosion to let the landscape change over long periods of time. With the birth of new life, happiness and hope are major emotions, while by death its grief, sadness and sometimes anger. This is how Luminous was not only the God of Time, but also light, day, happiness, hope, life and creation. Grimm wasn't only the God of Space, but also darkness, night, sadness, grief, anger, death and destruction.

Now the world was in balance and there was always more room for new life and everyone lived in harmony. The humans invented new things and became more advanced than the monsters. To exploit this Grimm planted a seed of evil in the monsters, making them jealous of the humans and they became scared of them. So they attacked humans, and the humans attacked them in retaliation, and so the endless war between humans and monsters started. Luminous was surprised and angered by what his brother has done and banished him to his own pocket dimension, where he could rule as a king and god. There it was always night, no single ray of sunshine hit the surface, ever. All the plants are either dark colored or dead and a very few animals lived there. After being in his own dimension for so long, he started to feel lonely and sad, so he created himself a wife, with whom he could share his feelings. She had eyes and hair as silver as the full moon, her skin was fair and as white as porcelain, due the absence of the sun. She was elegant, beautiful, kind, caring and so much more. But even together it was still too silent, so Grimm created more people, more subjects and he proclaimed himself and his wife, Lunaria, as king and queen of the Immernachtreich, the realm of eternal twilight, his realm. Together they had a daughter and lived happily ever after, but Grimm could never see his brother again or take his role as god,' you told them the entire origin of the universe. 'And what does this have to do with you?' the blonde asked you, demanding and answer. 'Well, you see. I am (Y/N), but that's merely the name of my vessel. A way to walk alongside you mortals. Because I am a god. I am Grimm!' you exclaimed, while standing. This shocked everyone there. 'You're the god of space and evil?!' the blonde yelled. 'That's literally what I just said,' you told her. 'Then prove it,' she said, clearly not believing you. 'Let's see, ah yes. I survived a fall from the sky, defeated a big dude in a matter of seconds, by completely disintegrating it, and defeated an army of a couple of thousand mask wearers,' you summed up, 'and that all without having a scratch on me. Also I fought you evenly and summoned a wyvern. I call creatures like that simply, the creatures of Grimm. So, yeah, I think I've proven enough.' 'Then fight me again,' she challenged you.

'On two conditions,' you said. 'State it.' 'First, you'll give me your name. Secondly, if I win, I become the leader of this organization and you become my subordinate and if you win I'll become your subordinate. In both cases the subordinate must blindly obey all orders of the leader. Is that clear?' you suggested. 'I'm Lumine, not that it matters. But I like the sound of that second condition, but even if I lose, which I'll not, I'll be in charge of all matters concerning my brother,' the leader said with a smile on her face. 'First let's see who will win this fight,' you said and summoned your scythe again and disappeared. Lumine looked surprised around her, only not to find you. Suddenly she got hit in the back and slid forward. She quickly recovered however, turned around and slashed at you, but you dodged and retaliated by hitting her in the stomach with the blunt end of your scythe's handle, making her hunch over and you drove the blade through her chest, turned around and used your scythe as a lever to lift her up and smashed the blonde girl in the ground, a gaping wound where her heart once was. Her white and gold dress, quickly turning crimson and making the soil drenched and slippery. You walked up to her, murmured a couple of words and her lost blood flew back into her body and after it was all in, the chest wound closed, also her clothing repaired itself. Eventually everything looked like nothing ever happened. Lumine coughed and woke up. She sat up, looked around her and asked: 'What happened?' 'Well, how do I say this? I kinda killed you,' you said. 'You did what?!' she yelled. 'I killed you, meaning I defeated you. Which means I get to be the leader and you're now my subordinate,' you said. 'Oh,' she just said. She got up and then kneeled in front of you. You turned to face the masses and saw that everyone was kneeling. 'Thank you for acknowledging me as your leader! You will not regret it, as I'll lead you to a new age of prosperity! Now and for as long as I live! Which is forever,' you said and laughed at your own joke. 'We'll be grateful to serve you, Lord,' Lumine spoke aloud, indicating that she would be the spokesperson of everyone. 'About your brother, Lumine,' you said in a cold voice. 'Yes, my Lord?' the golden eyed girl asked you, fear clearly present in her words. 'You'll have be in charge of all matters concerning him, but you'll have to consulte with me first. Is that clear?' you said. 'Crystal clear, my Lord,' she answered obediently. 'Good, you're all dismissed,' you said to everyone in the room, inside the ruins. And everyone walked backwards to the doorway, all still bowing, only to straiten and turn when they actually left the room. What should I do now that I'm the leader? you wondered to yourself.
