Scratch's POV

I gotta admit, I was really in a pickle. I could go for a jar of pickles with vinegar right now. But I needed to attend this stupid mandatory seminar in the Ghost World. Problem with that was I needed to sneak away while Molly and Amber were still sleeping. I grabbed my things and tried sneaking away, but I bumped into the hat rack, which knocked over a bunch of plushies and some other decorations, one of which hit Amber in the face. "Ow!" Amber complained before I shushed her. "Do that again. I dare you." I managed to grab everything in Molly's direction, but she was woken up by a ball of yarn. "Scratch? Why are you up so early?" Molly gasped. "Do you wanna hang out? I don't need sleep! I run on the thrill of friendship!" "I can't hang out today." I explained. "I have to go to a scaring seminar." "You? Attending a seminar?" Amber asked. "You always skip out on Molly's classes to camp out in the vending machine." "Ooh! What's this seminar?" Molly asked, poking me in the process. "Is it fun? It's sounds fun!" "Nothing mandatory is ever fun, Molly." I explained. "I have to sit through the same lame presentation year after year. If I wasn't already a ghost, it'd bore me to death. You have to survive without me for a day, okay? Wish me luck, kid."

Amber's POV

"Luck is wished!" Molly exclaimed as Scratch's portal closed. Molly took a look around our room, which was messier than usual. "Huh, I do not remember making this mess." "I think Scratch hit me in the face with a hardcover book." I commented. "Nearly gave me a concussion."

After finishing breakfast downstairs, I headed up to the attic to play some video games on my portable console. Molly was talking on the phone with Libby. "No, no, Libby. Dental hygiene is important. Well, you enjoy your appointment." Molly said, hanging up the phone. "Okay. Mom's GigPigging. Dad's at an emergency City Council meeting. Darryl told me not to ask where he is today. Looks like it's just us. So, what do you want to do, sis?" "You wanna play battle mode?" I asked. "I've got an extra controller." "Nah, every time we play, you always end up losing and that makes me feel bad." Molly declined. "I guess I'm on my own then. That's fine. I can be alone. Right, Twinklespot?" "Right, Molly." She spoke for her plush unicorn. "So, what should we do today?" "How about you start with getting your plushies back on your side of the room?" I suggested. "She's right." Molly spoke for Twinklespot again. "Plus, I'm tired of sitting next to Baby Jessie." "Yeah, good idea." Molly agreed. "Maybe she goes in the donation bag." Molly grabbed the doll, put it in the bag, and threw the bag out the window. "I always hated that doll." I commented. "Alright, let's relocate you to my side and organize you all by cuddleosity." Molly said as her stack of plushies began to move. "Uh, what was that?" "What's wrong?" I wondered. "My plushies might've moved on their own!" Molly panicked. "Well, we know Scratch is gone, so it rules him out." I said. "You're probably just hallucinating." Molly removed Twinklespot from her pile just to be sure. Luckily, nothing was wrong. "Guess my eyes were playing tricks on me." Molly sighed with relief, putting Twinklespot back. Looking back at the pile, we both noticed Darryl's pet tarantula and Molly screamed and kicked Twinklespot across the room. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me." I complained. "Oh, Twinklespot! I'm sorry! It was a reflex!" Molly apologized. "You kicked me in the face." She spoke for Twinklespot. "I already said I'm sorry, okay? Let it go." Molly said normally as Darryl's spider approached her. "Aah! Heidi Hairylegs!" "You're still afraid of spiders?" I asked as Molly jumped on her bed, clutching onto Twinklespot. "Oh, corn." Molly whimpered. "This is my worst nightmare! I'm trapped with Darryl's pet spider. And I have to face it alone." "Alone?" I asked. "Sorry, sorry." Molly apologized. "Not alone, alone, but we can both agree that you're not really contributing anything major to this situation, right?" "No, that's fair." I replied. "Let me know if you need help."

Molly continued to defend herself against Heidi, who was still crawling around our room somewhere. "Okay, I am a strong, independent woman." Molly sighed. "I can handle this!" Molly grabbed all her plushies, a few pillows, and some other stuff while she looked for Heidi through a pair of binoculars. "Alright, Heidi. You might think you have the upper hand, but you underestimate the McGee nerves of steel!" Molly screams at the sight of Heidi and jumps back on her bed. "Need me to call Darryl?" I groaned. "No, I got it." Molly replied. "Wait! What if she's on my phone?" "Yeah, I'm calling Darryl." I sighed, dialing his number into my phone. "You're on with Chilly McGee." Darryl answered. "Don't call yourself that, Darryl." I groaned, just as Molly grabbed my phone from my hand. "Darryl! You have to come home right now!" Molly panicked over the phone. "Your tarantula is in mine and Amber's room!" "Kind of in the middle of something!" Darryl responded with the sound of oncoming traffic in the background. "Leave Heidi Hairylegs alone. She is about to have babies!" "Uh, babies?" Molly asked. "As in more than one?" "Hundreds." Darryl replied. "Hundreds?!" I exclaimed, grabbing my phone. "I don't know, maybe thousands." Darryl said. "Darryl, you left Heidi to swarm the house with a thousand babies?" I asked. "Molly's going to die of fear!" "A THOUSAND BABY TARANTULAS?!" Molly panicked, grabbing an umbrella and an old toy school bus for Heidi to crawl into. "Hey, Heidi. Wouldn't you like a nice ride to the, uh... tarantula hospital so you can lay those eggs?" "Tarantula hospital?" I questioned as Heidi walked into the toy bus. "Now you're not making any sense." "There you go! That's right!" Molly exclaimed, closing the little door on the bus. "I did it! I caught her!" "Barely." I mumbled. "Okay. Just gonna get you back to your cage, Heidi. Real easy like, then you can have your... thousands of babies." Molly gulped. "Have you thought of names, or you're just gonna call them all Jim or something or..." Heidi touched Molly with her leg, freaking her out, which caused the attic door to open, sending them both to the second floor. "Molly! Are you okay?" I asked, feeling concerned as she continued screaming. "Amber! Heidi's loose in the house!" Molly screamed. "She's having lots of spider babies all over the house. Nowhere is safe." "Okay, I'm coming!" I groaned, climbing down from the attic. "Moll, just go back in our room while I look for Heidi. She must be down here. I can see you're going through something."

Once Molly headed upstairs, I started my search for Heidi in the basement. I figured I could work my way back up to the attic. Long story short, I couldn't find her wherever I looked. For a pregnant spider, she moves around pretty fast. As soon as I made my way up to the attic, I decided to check in on Molly. "How you holding up, Moll?" I asked. "Why did you leave me like this, Scratch?!" Molly cried, clutching onto the broom. "What was that? Oh, my nightmares are everywhere! My life is agony!" "Okay, we're getting you some fresh air." I said, taking Molly downstairs.

I went outside of the house with Molly once I saw her freaking out in the attic. I just sat in the sun while Molly was watering flowers. At that moment, Scratch had returned from his seminar in the Ghost World. "Hey, Scratch." I greeted. "Amber." Scratch replied. "Molly! Are you okay?" "Oh, yeah, totally fine." Molly replied. "Okay. Well, good! Alright." Scratch said. "Well, I for one am beat. I'm gonna go hit the hay." "No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Scratch, don't go in there." Molly warned, grabbing onto him. "It belongs to the spiders now." At that moment, Heidi and her thousands of children swarmed the kitchen from what I could see as Molly and Scratch were freaking out.
