Into the deep darkness

Chapter 2

He was walking aimlessly on the road. Chilly wind was blowing and it was difficult to walk in it but he was not paying attention to the winter. His whole attention was on the conversation happened with boss and smirking faces.

"What to do now?? I've lost my job. Everything is lost now."

He was just thinking about it when his phone rang. He looked at the name of caller, it was from Josh, his only close friend and neighbour of his apartment. He picked up the phone.

He said, "Hello."

"Hey bro! Where are you? I'm searching you from half an hour. I've texted you 15 times and you didn't reply. What happened dude??"

"Man, I didn't check my phone... umm.. I.. I've something to tell you.."

"Dude, tell me whats the matter?"
He sighed on the phone,"Josh, I lost my job."

"What??? How is this possible?? You told me you finished your presentation on time, you worked hard on it and now, you are saying you lost it??"

"Yeah man! But my collegues did this work. They added fuel in the fire. I dont know whatever they said to boss but he was saying that William created this presentation and he was quite upset.."

He could hear Josh mumbling voices under his breath. All he could hear from Josh side was "Ooohhh! Man this is sad. Now what are you going to do?? And this time you are fired, how will you manage it. Your report will get affected by it."

He placed his hand on his temple and started rubbing it. He said, "I dont know, atleast not now."
"Why dont you ask Amenda for help??"

"Josh, are you kidding?? The girl who is the reason behind all this situation is going to help me.." he said with humourless laugh.

"Have you arranged that money? Remember you have to deposit it till tomorrow.."

"Oh shit!!! I just forgot about it completely, what am I going to do now?? I dont know how to solve all problems together."

"Bro I can help you with $100. And I can arrange $100 more. But the amount is big to be arranged within a night. I'll try to arrange it but I cant assure you." He could hear Josh's concern on the phone.

"Thanks man! This means lot to me! I'll see what I can do for my ownself. But bro, I want to spend some time alone. I hope you'll not mind."

Josh said, " Yeah man! I can understand! Please dont worry. Everything will be okay. Just dont loose hope."

"Hmm... okay.. my friend. Thanks bye."

"Okay bye! Take care of yourself.."

Then he hung the phone.

He didnt take a look to his nearby. He just kept on going away. He didn't pay attention that he was going away from his city and home. He was going towards the outskirts of the city. He didn't know where to go but he didn't even want to stop. He just dont want to look at surroundings. So he was just looking at the road and was moving slowly and slowly.

He didn't notice the time. It was 8 O'clock in the evening. But due to winter season, it was quite dark and it was appearing like its midnight time. He felt tired and saw a lamp-post. So he thought he should take some rest here. So he went near to it and sat on the footpath of the road. He didn't even notice how far he've reached. But he felt tired. He was feeling quite hurt. So he just simply closed his eyes and took a deep breath. As he was quite tired, he just slept within a few minutes.
