Into the deep darkness

Chapter 3

He didn't know how much time had passed when he opened his eyes. He blinked his eyes to see his surroundings clearly, but couldn't recognise it. It was quite dark. So he looked at his watch. It was midnight time. The sound of crickets and other insects could be listened clearly. He just rub his face with his hand.

"I dont recognise this area. I've never come here before.",he said. He tried to look around again but because of the darkness he couldn't see it clearly. He searched for his phone in his pocket. When he tried to access his phone, it was switched off. He cursed for a moment because neither he could contact anybody at that time, nor he could find what his current location was. So he stood up on his feet. He could see a faint light at a quite long distance. Although he was standing near the lamp post but it was not providing light. May be the bulb was fused. So he decided to walk in the direction of the light so that he could ask for help.

When he was walking, he remembered the different times of his life. When he was 15 years old, his parents died in a car accident. He was the single child of his parents and their financial condition was not so good. So after their death, he became orphan with not enough money. The little bit money saved by his parents became his source of completing the education upto high school but that was not sufficient money, so he started teaching to the nearby students in the evening. Even in that difficult phase, he didn't loose courage. He lived in small town, so for higher studies, he left his small town and sold his house. Although he worked hard for scholarship but still he needed money for daily needs.

Then he said,"My life is as dark as this place. No matter how much I try to overcome this darkness, I came back into the deep darkness."

He again looked towards the faint light but still it was at a distant place. So he stopped moving ahead for some time and placed his hands on his knee to take little rest. His breathing was ragged. So this gave him little rest. At that time, he couldn't stop himself from remembering the golden past he ever lived.

Five years ago, he completed his engineering from NewYork University and he got his first job from the campus. Although, doing an engineering degree wasn't an easy task but still he managed to complete it. After his parents death, he had no one to take care of him because his grandparents already died and he didn't know any other relative. Time to time, his neighbours came to him to help him but he always refused their help. So when he completed his engineering, he was on the top of the world. The job he got was paying him a decent salary and he felt like all his problems were going to end. But, here what he thought was his mistake.

As he joined his job, he started enjoying his life. He started living a luxurious life, every month he spend large amount on clothes, shoes and going to parties, clubs became like routine to him. Everyday he spend was like a lottery to him. He didn't even care to save even a little bit of money and the way he lived his earlier life, it was the kind of life which he always dreamt of.

He spend this kind of luxurious life for two years. But every happiness have to came to an end and this also came to an end. The company in which he was working got bankrupt. He got fired from the company because company couldn't afford so many employee. His all dreams were shattered within a span of time.

Then his childhood friend Josh helped him in searching other job. He got the job in a rising software company but his salary was quite less than the previous one. He left his luxurious apartment and started living in an apartment near to Josh's one. This was a single bedroom apartment but he was not able to come back into middle class lifestyle.

At that time, he looked at the light again but it was appearing quite distant. He couldn't understand what was happening to him. Either he was not okay or the place was an illusion place. He felt like it was some kind of mirage in desert which you think that water is present but when you reach at that point, you see there is no water onlu sand is present. Same feeling was rising in his heart. He was feeling that place has something mysterious in it.

Suddenly, he felt dizzy and he could feel himself falling in a hole. Everything was appearing to him in slow motion. His right feet firstly landed on a place where there was no land. Due to this, his balance went off and he fell into the darkness. He was not able to see anything. All he could feel was that his whole body was rotating round and round and round.

His anxiety reached to another level because he couldn't do anything for his ownself. His brain was not working properly, his blood pressure was rising enormously. He was panicking with the situation, all he could say at that moment was," where the hell am I going."

Though all this happen within few seconds, it appeared to him like he was rotating like this from years. Even he tried to save himself from falling but he was not able to maintain his balance. He fell into a dark place, he tried to rise but his dizziness reached to next level. As he tried to stand up, he fell onto the surface so badly that he yelped in pain. After that, he tried to open his eyes but he couldn't open it. He was not able to feel anything and within few seconds, he fainted.

No matter what he tried to do in his life. His fate was never in his favour. Every time he tried to rise above, all he could he see was how he fell back into the deep darkness...
