If only it had been as simple as going back to grab the can. Nope, luck was definitely not on our sides. Instead, we got lost last night and by the time we made it to the camp it was too dark out to even see. We had decided to go back when we first woke up, but our tiresome bodies weren't having it, so we did it later in the afternoon that day. Currently sitting on our backs and staring up at the clouds, I began to ponder the meaning of life. Why were we here? Why do we have hands and feet and-

"You know, that cloud looks like a heart." Andrew commented while pointing up at the sky.

It indeed did look like a heart. "You know, I think that was the girliest thing I have ever heard you say."

He shrugged, chuckling slightly. "That's because I'm around you all the time."

"If I'm supposed to take offense to that, I don't. I take pride in being a girl." I retorted, smiling proudly.

He didn't reply, and I took the silence as a sentimental moment we were both sharing. Minutes passed, maybe even hours but we didn't care. It was pleasant to just relax and pretend we weren't stranded. Pretend our problems didn't exists and that mom and Dave got married and were on their honeymoon and poor Riley and I were babysitting the kids.

But I cant do that. I can't pretend that our problems aren't real, because the more I do that the more real they become. Running through the many conflicts and obstacles we faced only makes them seem more real, and if those were real I don't want to know what's in store for us. What's to come is surely greater than what we can imagine.

"Do you think we should try to find out who's in the island?" I asked, breaking the serene silence. "I mean, obviously they don't want us here. They burned our supplies and moved the plane."

He only sighed. "I don't know. I mean, if they're willing to burn our supplies what would they do if they actually found us? We don't know who's on the island."

"How do you think they got on the island in the first place?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe there was another crash? Or some sort of sick twisted scenario like ours happened to them too."

I laughed lightly. "Yeah, our situation was pretty unfortunate."

"Unfortunate? Yes. Your fault? Also yes."

"My fault?" I shrieked, sitting up. "What do you mean? Was I the idiot that fell off the side of the boat? No!"

He grinned up at me. "You know, you look cute when you're angry."

I smacked his shoulder. "Knock it off."

"Knock what off?"

"Your losing your mind already," I groaned, standing up. "Alright, well come join me when your sanity comes back."

"Where are you going?" He asked, squinting up at me.

"To swim," I said back, turning around and walking towards the water.

"As in skinny dipping?" He yelled out from behind me.

"You wish!" I shouted back, laughing. Andrew will always be the same Andrew, and as long as that stays the same I guess there's hope after all.

"I'm not quite sure of how lucky you got that your camera didn't burn with the rest," Andrew said, smiling as I randomly snapped a shot at him.

I laughed. "Only the best survive."

"So if we don't survive this, does that mean we aren't the best?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
