12. Out Of Pity

"I'm such an asshole" kai groaned as he banged his head on their table.

They sat in the cafeteria for lunch, recalling the events of yesterday. Yeonjun was yet to arrive.

"damn right you are" kai stared at taehyun is disbelief.

"listen dude i love you no homo but there's no denying what you did was wrong and we were in on it so we're partially at fault too" beomgyu said with a guilty look.

"not partially I'd say like about 30 percent" taehyun said with his mouth full of food

"the point is" soobin leaned forward "if he was comfortable with us knowing he would've told us. Following him was just nah"

"god i feel awful" kai groaned.

"let's just try to forget about whatever happened and act normal around yeonjun" beomgyu suggested.

"and maybe be a little more friendly than you usually are" soobin pointed at Kai.

"so now you wanna stay friends with me because you think you know shit about me when you don't" they all froze at yeonjun's voice coming from behind them.

Soobin gulped as he locked his eyes with yeonjun glossy ones "y-yeonjun"

"I didn't beg you guys to be friends with me you, yourselves, welcomed me in your group. I knew kai didn't like me but I didn't think he would stoop this low"

"I didn't-"

"I regret wanting to have any friends. I'm done with you and your fake friendship so stay away from me"

yeonjun turned around and immediately walked out of the cafeteria leaving the four and a few other students stunned at the sudden outburst.

"I think we fucked up bad" soobin muttered to the others.

Yeonjun ran through the hallways straight towards the bathroom, eyes stinging with tears.

He went inside and a stall and immediately broke down, leaning against the door.

"I knew this wasn't gonna end well"

He covered his mouth to muffle his sobs. He wanted to get out of here, skip school for the day but again he can't.

If he could, he would run far away from this place and everyone associated with it.

Going home is not an option. Home? Can he even call it that word.

Home is supposed to make you feel warm and protected but yeonjun is unaware of what the term actually means.

To him, it's merely a shelter, a place to live, to sleep at. Nothing more than that.

And when he finally thought he had friends, they turn out to be jerks who can't respect his choices of keeping his personal life to himself and stalk him all day just so he could feel even more miserable.

It had been a few minutes and yeonjun had calmed down. He walked out the stall and splashed a little water on his face.

Since he can't skip school he decided to spend the rest of the lunch break in library.
