Yeonjun harshly threw his bag on the floor as soon as he entered through the back door.

He quickly put his uniform on and went to the counter. One look at his eyes and you could tell how tired he was.

Jungkook noticed his unusual behavior and decided to ask him about it "hey you okay?"

"of course I am. My so called friends don't trust me enough to be friends with me, I hardly managed to stay in school today, barely got any sleep last night because of all the shouting and I feel more shitty than I do everyday so yes I'm alright"

"okay let's just get you out of here" jungkook grabbed yeonjun shoulders and turned him around as he bowed to the customers for the yelling "hey myungho take care of the counter"

Jungkook quietly led yeonjun into his house at the back side of his restaurant.

"okay what is up with you" he said as they both settled in the living room.

"nothing. Just having a rough day"

"That's not a 'just having a rough day' look"

Yeonjun looked at jungkook who looked at him with raised eyebrows. He sighed before closing his eyes and leaning his head back on the couch.

"they took it"

"took what"

"the money you gave me yesterday"

"that's what's bothering you, yeonjun that's not a big deal I can give-"

"I know you can but that's not the thing. I work hard to earn that money and they just took it from me to spend it god knows what and I couldn't even do anything to stop them" tears had started brimming his eyes.

"I just stood back like a coward, afraid that if I say anything, he would smash that bottle straight on my head.

And then they keep screaming at each other and start fighting for who gets to keep my salary, that didn't help the very few hours of sleep that I usually get.

And when I get to school the next morning to finally find some peace I find out that the people I thought about opening up to were stalking me the whole day yesterday to make sure I wasn't a criminal of some sort" yeonjun took a deep breath after finishing.

Jungkook sighed. This wasn't new. Yeonjun always takes his salary home on different days, sometimes he's successful in hiding sometimes he's not.

And then his actually unbelievably blood related uncle and aunt take it to spend it on unnecessary things.

When his parents died he was taken in by his uncle and aunt, according to them he was forced into their house because legally they were his guardians.

They decided to keep him in the house but yeonjun was always responsible for dealing with his own expenses, which included food, clothing and even his tution fee.

At an extremely young age, when yeonjun knew nothing of the world, he was forced into it to look for a job to make a living.

Luckily he met jungkook, who had newly opened a fast food place a few streets down his house.

When jungkook saw a little boy roaming around the streets in the thinnest layer of clothing during October, he immediately brought him inside his house.

Being young nd naive, yeonjun spilled out his complete story to the stranger. Jungkook knew if he let this child go that moment, he would live with guilt his whole life.

So he decided to help yeonjun, by paying for his necessities. Yeonjun lived in his uncle's house but the finances for his expenses were secretly provided by jungkook.

Of course the two devil's didn't know about this. It's not that they didn't try to find out they just didn't care about the boy.

Soon yeonjun grew and when he reached the age at which he could work, jungkook let him work at his restaurant.

"listen I'm sorry about your friends, I was not expecting that but things will get better, trust me on this one. You've come this far of course you can deal with a few more stupid people.

And as for the money, don't worry about it. It can always come back because you work hard and it always pays off. You're not a coward for wanting to keep yourself safe" jungkook smiled before getting up and leaving off to somewhere.

He came back with a blanket in his hands and placed it on the huge comfy couch in his living room.

"I'll wake you up for dinner you're not going back until then" jungkook spread out the blanket a little.

"hyung you can't keep forcing me to stay here"

"I can't? Oh wait I just did" yeonjun chuckled at his silliness.

Yeonjun yawned before laying down on the couch. Jungkook stared at him before speaking "how do even manage to sleep here I have like three beds"

"I like it" yeonjun said, voice muffled in the pillow.

Jungkook rolled his eyes before walking back to the restaurant making sure to lock the door from outside.

Yeonjun closed his eyes, letting himself drown in sleep, not caring about the fact that he'll go back to being the quiet, invisible kid from tomorrow onwards.

______

This shouldn't count as a spoiler but yeonjun was 9 when his parents died and jungkook was 18 so they have a 9 year difference here.
