If My Dreams

If my dreams could continue on,

If I could return to my second home,

And paint a world of my own,

A reality that's never monochrome

Evanescent songs, echoing and dwindling,

Here, in my reverie, I could lay forever,

For only here, is a meadow of eternal spring,

No truths to hurt me, and no lies to sever

Beside the meandering rivulet,

The earth's azure sash, the ocean's purest scarf,

Sailing a boat carried by the gentle wavelets,

Journeying far from the warmth of my hearth

If my dreams could come true,

If I could have anything I desire,

And live without rue,

A fabled paradise somewhere higher

In a desolate dwelling, far away,

Where hopes were always confined,

The stars taught me to never sway,

To fulminate and to shine

Believe again, breathe again,

I will grow wings, and soar into the sky

Above the clouds, and above the rain

Under the rippling aurora, I will fly

If the light glows brighter, more vibrant,

If everything grows so blinding, that I can't see,

Then I will let my eyelids fall, black and silent,

Like a blithe bird, forever so carefree

Past the waterfall, the cascading curtain,

Is my shelter, a secret hideaway,

A library of memories, lost but certain,

If only I could linger, if only I could stay

Up on the tallest tree, my guardian friend,

Is my lair, my humble abode,

A sea of imagination, the world's end,

Churning up the past, as it flowed

If my voice becomes too lonely,

If my silhouette starts to fade,

Then I will follow my destiny,

Along the path that I had laid

I will sing my heart's melody,

Notes strung together by fate,

Lyrics coalescing into a sanctuary,

Tomorrow is already here, so why wait?

Diving into the forgotten depths,

Drifting under the azure waves,

It's dissolving, my strength,

Let me find it again, my faith

If my dreams could continue on,

If I could return to my only home,

And live in a world of my own,

Another world, I won't be alone
