Today the sky is starless,
Draped over by a velvet sheet of blackness,
Seeking an eclipsed moon,
Faded streetlights, guide me home.
Imprinted against the warm, incandescent fire,
Blurred silhouettes, playing the lyre,
Melody of my hopeful heart, woe
Rise again, in a last crescendo
My footprints extinguish behind me,I
see their wavering afterglow,
A rivulet of memories, so shallow,
Opalescent eyes, but hollow
Shifting colours, dapple my face,
Where are you, my saving grace?
Your words etch into me,
It hurts, but it heals me, it's sweet
So distant, yet so near,
Find me in the next life, dear,
Time stretches and distorts,
Light so prismatic, I've lost my sight
Painting a picture in the dark,
Where I wept, make a mark
Colour my achromatic world
I don't care, I don't care if it's more than I can hold
