______tiny dancer
______men and women alike who knew of me in the underground business called me tiny dancer. i was around the age of fourteen or so the first time i shook my hips to the jeers of the older men that both stood and sat in front of the 'stage' i performed on. i was small, the youngest of the other girls who also performed; therefore, granting me the nickname tiny.
especially since no one knew my real name or even my real age. i was orphaned by the lady and the rest of the girls there who worked alongside the men who actually ran the business. we were just the faces of it and the ones who kept it running.
i've been asked how i ended up where i was by the rest of the girls but never by the lady. my guess was that she knew the tragedies of where we all could have came from-plus, that wasn't her job. not that she didn't care, but she worried more about our well-beings now and whether we were making profit for ourselves as well as the business.
that was our job after all.
