a few days had passed until i was finally able to walk comfortably on my bandaged feet again. a few of the so-called 'nurses' were able to answer most of my questions:
where am i? the infirmary for the sick and wounded.
how did i get here? the underground city guards were informed of the fire and found you unconscious in the alleyway just behind the house.
how long was i unconscious for? about 4 days.
why am i here? you were very injured miss.
am i not in the underground anymore? no miss, you're next to the soldiers barracks where they get treated if they're seriously sick or hurt. your condition was bad enough to get you here.
what happens once my injuries heal? you'll be taken back to the underground city and your place of residence of course.
back down to the underground city and the job i haven't been to in days-the job that almost got me killed. back down to the house that burned everything i owned and everything i worked for-the house that i was almost burned alive in for the second time.
i have no place of residency.
i have nothing down there.
