jane was founded at the age of 11 by karen wheeler. Karen had a big heart that she takes on jane. At the Wheelers, she met Nancy, who was 12, and Mike, who was 7, as well as Ted, the children's father.
They all got along, they treated each other like real siblings.
Mike questioned jane a lot but never really got the answer he wanted to hear, at least that's what he thought because he never believed a word of her even though she was telling the truth.

The story begins when jane and nancy are still in middle school, so 11 and 12, that's about one or two chapters and then there's a time skip and then it's the time of the 4th season.
