THREE MONTHS LATER
AVENGERS COMPOUND

It had been three months since Claire's disappearance and through the long days and nights still nothing had been found. It was like she no longer existed. There was no trace of her past that day she walked out saying she would be back the day of Yelena's birthday.

Wanda was now six months pregnant and yet she didn't want the baby if it meant not having Claire with her. She had fallen into an endless cycle of shutting everyone out and not talking to them, only leaving her and Claire's floor when she had to go to doctor's appointments.

Steve, Nat or Yelena sat with her most of the time but Wanda was still left alone the majority of the days.

Tony had every camera known to man running and trying to find Claire yet no signs of her. Fury had pitched in and helped for a while and yet he was coming up empty handed as well. The one suspicious thing that had happened was that HYDRA had also seemed to completely fall off the grid until about a week ago when their activity spiked and killings started happening again.

Not just one or two assassinations like they used to do, but mass killings. It was like they had gotten careless. They didn't care who they killed as long as their specific target was among the bodies.

There had been four bombings and three shootings from a masked vigilante all in the past week and Fury was ripping his non-existant hair out over it. He wanted nothing more than to have this person killed and yet there were hints and clues that whoever this was could lead them back to HYDRA and one and for all kill Alexander Pierce.

The bastard had eluded Fury ever since he tried to demolish hundreds of thousands of people and now Fury wanted to kill him.

"Wanda, you're up." Kate says surprised, looking up as Wanda walks into the room, her pregnant belly slightly hidden by one of Claire's baggy shirts that she was wearing. "Do you need something?"

"I'm looking for Natasha." She says quietly and Kate just nods, looking sadly at her friend.

"Nat's in her room." She tells her and Wanda thanks her quietly before padding out of the room in search for Nat. When she gets to her door she takes a deep breath before knocking three times.

"Barton I swear to god if I have to tell you to leave one more time I'm going to pour a whole bucket of- oh, Wanda." Nat says as she opens the door, surprised to see the other red head standing there.

"Is now a bad time? I can come back later." Wanda says, about to turn and leave when Nat grabs her hand to stop her.

"No, don't be silly. Come on in." She says, gently tugging Wanda into her room before closing the door behind them and turning to Wanda.

Nats 'room' was more like an apartment and consisted of a small kitchen, living room and then the bedroom in the back. "Would you like some tea?" She questions as Wanda sits on the small couch that Nat had put in her living room.

"Yes please, green if you don't mind."

"Of course." Nat says, busying herself with the tea while glancing up at Wanda every once in a while. "You alright?" She finally asks and Wanda looks up as Nat brings the cups of tea over to the couch and curls up in the other corner opposite from Wanda so that they are facing each other.
"Yeah," Wanda says quietly, rubbing her thumb along the side of the tea mug as she looks down at it sadly. Nat just waits for her to continue, knowing that she wasn't really fine and that she was going to talk even if it took a little while for her to get it out.

"I'm worried Nat." She finally says, "I know we all are, but I'm really worried about her. I just have this sinking feeling that what we're missing is critical. The pieces of this puzzle aren't fitting together, they're all jumbled. We're missing a piece and until we find that piece we're not going to find Claire." She says and Nat nods, agreeing with what Wanda was saying. "She wouldn't have just left like that. Something was going on, we all noticed her different behavior once I told her I was pregnant. Sure she was thrilled, she wouldn't stop talking about it, but she changed as well. Something was bothering her and she didn't want to tell me because she didn't want me to worry which caused me to worry more and I clearly had a right to be worried because now she's gone and she's been missing for almost four months now with not a trace."
