Before the story begins, all credit for the main premise goes to 'thewriterguyofstories'
They started a story called "The Friends" with the same premise which I thought was really good but they only ever released the first chapter and haven't updated it at all since 2019.
I thought it was a really good idea so thought, why not do my own version of it? I have no idea what direction their version of the story would have gone, as it never even got to the wager being made, so I just adapted the basic idea and their first chapter and came up with my own story from there.
