"DO YOU WANT ME TO STAY?" Kaia asks, as Darcy faces the front door to her house. The morning sun had barely risen, and rain had just begun to fall.

Darcy shakes her head, and turns towards her friend. "No, that's alright." She says. "I need time to think, I think."

Kaia's heart felt sore. Not only because she knew Darcy was scared, but because she knew this was going to change things. A lot of things. And Kaia hated change.

Kaia nodded. "I think we're all going to the beach tonight before the show, if you're feeling up for it."

The beach was actually the last place Darcy wanted to be. "Yeah, sure. I'll see how I'm feeling."

Kaia waited for Darcy to get inside before she went back to her car and left.

When Darcy went inside, her dad was already in the kitchen about to leave for work. He peaks his head around to the front entryway. "You're back early." He says.

Darcy scratches the back of her neck, walking into the kitchen. "Yeah, we uh- caught the sunrise at the beach so we were already awake anyways." She shrugs.

He nods, then gets sidetracks by his own thoughts. "How was Michael? Did you see him at all?"

Michael was Dakota and Kaia's dad. It was strange hearing him referred to as anything other than Sheriff Summerhill. Only Darcy's dad called him by his first name.

Darcy didn't know what he meant by that, but then quickly remembered the events that took place before her own did. "Oh." She let out. "No, I didn't see him."

Her dad takes a deep breath, shaking his head. "Makes me nervous."

"What does?" Darcy asks.

"You being out at their house. Especially at night." He says.

He continues. "If there's a bear out there like that then I don't want you-"

Darcy cut him off, about to tell him it's not a bear, but she didn't have any other idea to give him. "I know. I won't." She says instead.

He huffs. "And tell your brother, too. I think he was going out to that concert tonight. Just tell him to be careful." He says.

Darcy nods. "Yeah, I'll tell him."

Her dad gives her a soft smile, before grabbing his bag for work and heading out the door, leaving Darcy alone in the kitchen.

She felt eyes on her. And she knew exactly where they were coming from. The difference was now, she wasn't afraid of them anymore.

She turns around, the witch was stood in the shadows of the dining room, a narrow hallway separating them.

Darcy looks at her, taking a moment to really adjust to what she was seeing. It was similar with being eye to eye to the demon, like it was there, but it really wasn't. It was like trying to convince yourself that the person you were seeing amongst the dark was just a pile of clothes on your chair.
