A boy dashed through the night and hid in any dark shadow he could find. He stopped to catch his breath in an ally way. "Where in hell did that filthy Kurd run!?" Iran's voice boomed threw the still night air, causing the ten year old boy to hold his breath.
"I don't know!?" Hissed Iraq,"maybe that freaking demon finally returned to hell!" The other snickered as they returned to looking for the boy. "I wish," he heard Syria say,"but the brat won't save us the trouble."
The boy silently walked deeper into the alleyway. "Allah," the boy whispered,"please don't let them find me." At that moment, two large hands grabbed the boy's shoulder's and turned him to face the man that had ruled over him for a very long time, Turkey. "I found him!" Turkey voice boomed and the other three countries dashed over. The boy almost instantly began to be beaten. He stood no chance against the older countries, but he still tried.
"Help! Please stop!" He cried out as he fell to the ground. "Armenia! America!" He yelled even louder as he tried to block his attackers from hitting him. Then the laughter stopped and they stepped back, they each pulled put a gun. "Israel!" The boy screamed as four gun shots rang out.
"Kurdistan!" Israel screamed as she scrambled out of bed. She looked around the room as she calmed a little, it had only been a dream. Eve quickly took a shower and dawned her uniform. Like Germany and Prussia, she wore her military uniform a lot of the time except her's was that of a normal soldier's, not a higher up.
She quickly went down stares and was tackled into a hug.
"Morning Israel!" Kurdistan yelled happily as he looked up at her. Eve smiled and hugged him tightly.
"Shalom to you to Kurdi," Israel said as Kurdistan's smile got even wider at her nickname for him. She looked him over, making sure he wasn't hurt. He would often come to her home if he need to be bandaged up. This time though he looked ok.
Kurdistan looked like he was about 10 years old with shaggy black hair with a camouflage military uniform. It had the kurdish flag on it's upper arm and red beret. Ever since Israel had officially become a nation the two middle eastern minorities had been close.
"How did you get inside?" Israel asked as they walked into the kitchen and Israel began making breakfast. She made some toast for both of them and got Kurdistan some milk, before getting her beloved coffee.
"You gave me a spare key remeber," he said as she gave him his toast. She nodded, mentally kicking herself not remembering. It was quiet for a bit as they ate.
Kurdistan was about ask her something when a bang sounded at the door followed by an angry Palestinian voice. "Israel! Give me back my land!" Kurdistan gave her a sympathetic look as she groaned. Then she got an idea and gave Kurdistan a small smile.
"Let's go out the back and head for Armenia's house," Israel whispered, earning a big grin from her little friend; Armenia was one of his best friends. They quickly dashed out the back and went on their way, hand and hand just like always.
*later*
"Israel! Kurdistan!" Someone whispered as they were half way to Armenia; they both groaned, what was stopping them now? They turned to see Assyria and Chaldea; the other two stateless nations, other than Kurdistan, in the Middle East.
They were both about ten like Kurdistan. Also, they were fraternal twins; Assyria was a girl and Chaldea was a boy. While they both looked like their older brother Syria, they had a few Iraq's features too from living in his lands.
"Headed for Armenia's?" Asked Chaldea. "Can we come?" Assyria asked hopefully; neither of the twins were ever far from the other. Kurdistan shrugged and looked at Israel who nodded as now the four of them dashed for Armenia's house.
*later*
Israel smiled. They finally made it. Slowly, she rang the door bell and waited as her three friends talked a few feet away. The door soon opened, but it was not Armenia. In fact, it was one of the people Israel hated most.
"What are you doing here Jew?" Iran hissed as he looked down at her. Israel glared at him and hissed back. "I'm here to see Armenia. Why else would I be here you backstabbing Persian!"
He rolled his eyes and called her a word no Jewish person would ever want to be called.
"Leave her alone Iran!" A shaky but brave voice cried out. They both turned to Kurdistan as he dashed to Israel's side as the twins followed him. Before Israel could punch Iran, who was drilling holes into Kurdistan's head with his eyes, Armenia came out front. "Iran you forgot your bag!" She cried out quickly as she handed it him before turning to the group.
"Come on in," Armenia said happily as she stepped out of the way for them to come in. As Israel got inside, she turned back to glare at Iran. As Armenia closed the door, he sent Israel back a glare that said I hope you die a slow and painful death.
Armenia looked back at her guests and smiled. "There's dinner in the kitchen you can have," she said happily,"and some chocolate for dessert." Huge grins appeared on the children's faces at that; Armenia made very good chocolate. As they dashed the kitchen, Israel put a hand on Kurdistan's shoulder; he was shaking.
"You going to be okay?" Israel asked as she gripped his shoulder a little harder. He nodded and gave a soft smile as he went to get something to eat.
"I wish you would stop being friends with that good for nothing Persian," Israel hissed as she turned to look at her friend once Kurdistan was out of hearing range.
"And I wish you would stop being friends with Turkey," Armenia answered simply. Israel sighed, not wanting to argue with her, and turned away. "As long as your not considering dating him."
Armenia went quiet and Israel felt like she was gonna be sick. "Please tell me your not considering dating him," Israel turned to her friend again.
"I'm not!" Armenia said,"but I've got stay on his good side. I mean I don't need another enemy." Israel gave her friend a sympathetic look.
"Come on," Israel said as she took her friends hand and led her to the kitchen,"let's get some food before they eat it all." Israel gave Armenia a small smile which Armenia happily returned.
