The man Poland called Judah turned to him for a moment and smiled slightly. He then turned back to look at his daughter. They look almost completely alike only his skin was a little darker and his eyes were a dark brown. Poland had seen the ancient nation appear everyone once in a while to see Israel when she was a child.
"It has been some time," he finally said still looking at Israel. Poland watched the ancient nation for a moment. Judah soon turned to Poland and walked toward him.
"So you think this plan of your's is going to work?" Judah ask as he stopped in front of Poland. The blond stared at Judah for a moment felling a little silly for trying to play matchmaker. But then he looked at Israel, who was still fast asleep, and regained his confidence. If their was one thing Poland was good at, it was not caring what most other's thought of him. How else had he survived so long with all the bull crap he had dealt with over the centuries?
"Yes," Poland answered looking Israel's father straight in the eyes,"I do." Judah gave him a look of gratitude; since he watched the newer nations like all the other ancients, he knew that Poland only spoke formally when he knew something was serious.
Judah turned from Poland and walked over to his daughter's bags. He opened one and pulled out a very old teddy bear. It had been patched in a few times, but other than that it looked like it had been loved.
"I do hope you and the others get them together," Judah finally said putting the toy on the dresser in front of him.
"Others?" Poland asked quiet a bit confused. Judah only snickered a little at his confusion before heading for the doorway. Poland grabbed his arm knowing once the ancient nation was in the hallway he would vanish. It had happened every time Judah came to see his daughter.
"Ireland, Armenia, and Kurdistan are planning as well as Canada with some advice and maybe help from France," Judah answered and pulled his arm out and went through the doorway. Before he left Judah gave the eastern European nation one last look of gratitude. Even if the Polosh man had made a few mistakes, Judah couldn't hold it against him. Poland had taken care of his daughter and was kinder than many others even though he payed a price for it.
Judah faded from sight after that. Poland just stood there for a moment. The blond silently wondered why the ancient nations seemed to be able to visit any modern nation except for the ones that were their children.
Poland walked over to the night stand wondering why Judah had taken out the teddy bear and Israel even had it. He picked up the old teddy bear and smiled; Israel had certainly taken very good care of it. The Polish man yawned and decided it was time to go to sleep as he put the stuffed animal back on the dresser. First though he had a few phone calls to make.Time skip to morning: brought to you by coffee!
Israel groaned and stretched as she got up for once in quiet a while she had slept that well. As the Jewish nation got up, she noticed the teddy bear was out. She looked at it rather confused for a moment before walked over and picking it up. Israel smiled at the beloved toy and hugged quietly. It was very important to her and the memory of how she got it came to mind.
Time skip to shortly before WW1. Ottoman Empire's (Turkey's) house
"Hey Jew!" Palestine yelled at his chibi roommate,"you got another package!" Chibi Israel or Zion as she was known back then look up from her work: cleaning their room. She happily got to her feet; maybe another Jewish banker from Europe or the states had sent some more money. Since the Zion, who represented the Jews, had come back with some of her people to the holy land, the wealthiest of her people from all over the world had sent her money to help their fellow people.
Palestine glared at her as he handed her the package; he at first hadn't minded her being in his lands, but with more and more Jews were arriving, the Arab nation was beginning to change his mind. He scoffed as he left her; Ottoman Empire would deal with her if too many of her people showed up. And if the Turk ever let a Palestine leave his house, then Palestine would be perfectly capable of getting rid of the little minority in his land himself.
Zion smiled a little seeing it was from originally a Jew in New York. Her smile grew seeing the large amount of money to help her out. Then Zion saw a toy. A brown stuffed bear looked up at her as she picked it up. Zion held it close feeling how soft it was. The little Jewish personification soon found more information in the package explaining the stuffed bear. Apparently, Morris Michtom, who sent her the money threw a charity, made his fortune from coming up with this idea for a Teddy Bear and mass producing it. Her smile widened as she picked up her now beloved toy and money. She sent the money to her people, but the personification kept the Teddy Bear.Modern day again! End flashback!
"Hey Honey!" America yelled happily as he pulled her into a hug from behind. She flinched at first, having not heard him come in, before elbowing him playfully. He laughed and looked over her shoulder at what Israel was holding.
"A Teddy Bear?" America asked and watched as his friend blushed slightly. He immediately felt that his flight to Poland was worth it.
"You know that they came from me!" America said proudly and Israel giggled as she put the bear down.
"But hero boy," she answered playfully arguing with him,"they were made originally by a Jew so I'm just as responsible for the Teddy Bear too." They both laughed at the rhyme she made. And for a while joked about which of the was responsible for the beloved toy.
*******************************
Alright about the Morris Michtom making the original Teddy Bear and him being Jewish and giving money to a charity for Jews in the Ottoman Empire is actually true.
Also what I meant by Poland paying a price was that Germany put a lot of concentration camps and extermination camps in him. Poor Poland! ;(
