You just want to get some rest before the next training sessions tomorrow.

The day went by pretty fast. You just did some basic combat training and more theory lessons on titans. Throughout the day, you tried to ignore Levi and avoid his gaze at any given time. But unfortunately, he gave you a hard time because everywhere you went, you saw him. It's like he was observing your every move and you could always feel his empty eyes piercing right through your back. Luckily, he didn't bring up the ODM gear thing again nor talked to you. You already made up dozens of different stories in your head, which you could tell him when he'd ask you again but for now you could put them aside. You were more than 100% sure that sooner or later he'd bring it up again, it's only a matter of time. You heard that Hange and him would be leaving again in two days, so you noted to yourself, that you'd be extra careful not to talk to him in the next 48 hours. Dinner in the mess hall was a few hours ago, so you quickly did your duty, got ready and went to straight bed. But today seemed to be another day, where you can hardly fall asleep. You've been lying in bed like this for at least three hours now and everybody around you is most likely asleep already. This happened to you often these past weeks. Not every day but you could say on regular bases. It was slowly driving you insane and for you, the only way to calm down is to get some fresh air. Either way you wanted to go on night walks so, without hesitation you get out of bed, put on the same knit cardigan and just in case you get bored, grab your favourite book. You then quietly head out the door and think of a place to go.

After some time, you remember that other cadets talked about a lake west of the training corps, so you decide to head there. You've never been there before but you already saw a path heading that way, so you just followed it. The sky was cloudless and even though you were in a forest, the moon sent a rather bright light through the countless leafs. You continue walking for another good 30 minutes until you finally reach the lakeside.

It had a peaceful atmosphere to it. The moon was reflecting in the water surface and little waves, caused by the wind made their way over to the shore from time to time. Somehow, you felt at home in this place. You look around for a place to sit and a large tree, which was right behind you catches your eye. You make your way over to it and sit against the large trunk. You adored this feeling, the feeling of being alone. It makes you feel at peace. You admire your surrounding a little more until you eventually dig your head into the book you've brought with you. It's about a little girl, stuck in a different world full of spirits. Her goal is to save her parents, who've been turned into pigs by an evil witch. This witch rules this world and so the little girl has to work for her in order to save her parents.

2 Hours later

By now you've read almost half the book but you are still not tired. Usually reading makes you sleepy after a certain amount of time but the tiredness just doesn't seem to get to you. This doesn't happen to you often but you got kind of bored of reading so you think of something you could do instead. You lay the book down to your left and just look up at the sky. It's still cloudless and the moon shines directly into your face. You love the night sky. The stars, the moon, almost everything in that field amazes you. Or rather it amazed you.

As a kid back in Marley, you were obsessed with astronomy. In your father's office, there were big shelves with countless books and one day when you were rummaging through them, you stumbled upon a book about astronomy. The cover really took your interest and after reading the first few pages, your new hobby started. You just kept on reading more and more books about it. After some months, your dad noticed your interest because you were always sitting on the couch in the office, basically digging your head into those books. Even while he was working at his desk, you just quietly sat there. You didn't bother him in any way so he didn't mind your company. For your 9th birthday, he eventually bought you a telescope an you loved it. Since then, in the evenings, you often spent time with your father sitting outside in the garden and looking at the stars.

You really miss those days. You miss your family and your home. Maybe some day you can come back.

After all this time, you still couldn't figure out why these soldiers attacked your family. But it was pointless thinking about it now. There is no way you could get any answers here on Paradis. Obviously. You wonder, when you would go back to Marley. Would you even be safe, if you returned? The army sent those warriors, but was it just for you? There must be something else. It was probably about titan stuff, which you didn't really understand. When you think of it, you put yourself into more trouble by joining the cadet corps. It would've been easier, if you had just lived here as a normal person. Well, but you could use the survey corps as a way to escape. On an expedition you could just fake your death and flee with the ODM gear. But why bother thinking about all that now? You have to live in the moment and enjoy the peace you are at right now. Worrying about these sorts of things just makes you crazy in the head so it's better to save that for later.

It must be around 3am by now and you slowly get tired.

'It's probably for the best, if I get some sleep or else tomorrow will be a living hell' You think as you lift yourself from the ground. You grab your book, take a last glance at the lake and then return to the barracks. The walk back seemed to last for an eternity but when you eventually returned to the training corps, you were more than relieved to see your bed. Just before entering the girls' barrack, you thought you saw someone from the corner of your eye. But instead of turning around to see who it is, you just go inside. You are too lazy for that now. You again quietly close the door behind you and walk over to your bed. It's located in the far back so you try your best not to make any noise and wake someone else up. When you finally get to your bed, you open your little night stand to put your book back in there. Just as you were about to close the door, you hear ruffling coming from above you. Soon after, a sleepy voice quietly whispers.

"Lilliana, what the hell. It's literally the middle of the night. What are you doing?"

Puh, it was just Sofia, the girl sleeping above you. You both don't really talk but from what you've heard, she seems okay. Only that if you catch her at the wrong time, she can be kinda mean. Great that out of everyone you had to wake her up.

"Geez, Sofia. You scared me."

"Oh, I scared you? I woke up because of your loud ass feet stomping on the floor."

"Sorry I woke you up. I was just going to the toilet."

"Girl, I. Dont. Care. If it wouldn't be night right now I would sooo kick your butt.

"Yes, but I jus-"

"I'm too tired to talk to you right now, so good night."

Then silence filled the room again and you're left very confused.

'Gosh, what is up with her?', you think as you lay down on your bed.

The darkness of the room made you somewhat feel at peace again and ich slowly close your eyes.

Just two more days and your worries about Levi will be gone.
