A day where you won't have to worry about the corporal and can just do as you please.

_________________________________________

It's been about six months by now since you've last seen Hange and the corporal. After two weeks, you wondered how their expedition might have gone. But since you never got any information from Shadis nor Hange, you just forgot about it. At first you were kind of worried that something might have happened but then you reassured yourself that if something had happened you would've somehow heard about it.

You are currently sitting in the mess hall, at a table with Petra and some other girls from the cadet corps eating breakfast. Over the last couple of months, you've gotten really close with Petra. Even though at the beginning of your cadet days you promised yourself not to get close to anyone, you eventually had no choice but to give in. She's such a kind soul and therefore it is practically impossible for anyone including you not to like her.

The girls at your table chatting amongst themselves while you are deep in thoughts, poking around your food with your fork. Your head is resting on your left palm and you look down at your breakfast, which for today is some scrambled eggs and bread. The cadet corps is slowly starting to bore you out. For the past four weeks it's only ever been the same. Waking up, eating breakfast, warming up by running laps, hand to hand combat, lunch, then theory lessons, after that ODM gear training, dinner and then going back to sleep. You are so tired of it and the thought of the fact that you still have to do the same thing for the next two years is so frustrating.

"Hey Liliana... are you there?"

A voice pulls you out of your thoughts and when you look up the all too familiar red headed girl is waving her hand directly in front of your face, trying to get your attention. You mumble a faint "Hmm" as a signal for her to know that you are listening.

"I've been talking to you for like the past five minutes and you weren't even listening.", Petra complains while chuckling.

"Oh, sorry. I was just in thought.", you quickly apologize and form a slight smile.

"Yeah no kidding, as if we couldn't see that", a blond girl named Stephanie says.

This comment makes your smile drop instantly. The other girls at the table start snickering because of her remark. You shift your gaze upwards and look her directly in the eyes. Stephanie looks just like your typical popular mean girl. With her shiny, golden hair in a high ponytail and her big, bright blue eyes.

You knew at least five of girls just like her back in Marley and the best way to handle them is either to give them a piece of your mind or just simply ignore them. You go for the second option since you are still way too tired to start anything. So, you just shoot her a quick, angry look and draw your attention back to Petra who was about to say something.

"Don't be rude, Steph.", Petra protests. "But anyways you guys... I heard that we are being sent to the mountains for the winter. Some sort of special training or something. I think they called it Biwak-Training but I'm not sure."

"Really? Did the instructor tell you?", a girl named Nanaba, who's sitting next to Petra asks excitedly. She has dirty blond hair and it is cut really short. Normally, you're not a fan of short hair for girls, but somehow it really suited her and matched with her sharp face features.
