The Sneaky Cat-Burglar Nami

Chapter 4

Chapter 4:

"Waah~ I'm never going to hear the end of it from Zoro once he finds out that I dozed off on my night watch" Nami nervously thought to herself, as she and Robin walked towards the kitchen. "Even though he always falls alseep when he's on night duty. Heck, that's all he does. Sleep, Eat, Train, Repeat." she added. She knew the swordsman would never let pass a mistake she made, and will surely tease her about it for awhile.

As soon as they entered the kitchen, they were greeted as usual by the all too enthusiastic ero-cook.

"Robin-chwaaaaann~! Nami-swaaaaaaann! Good morning, looking as beautiful as ever this fine morning, my lovely ladies!" Sanji exclaim, his eyes with hearts and his body swirling around excitedly.

"Good morning!" replied both Nami and Robin.

Nami scanned the dining area, Zoro was already eating but he didn't seem to pay her mind. "He probably doesn't know yet", she thought to herself as she let out a sigh of relie. However, she noticed that almost everyone was there except the fact that their loud, meat-loving Captain was missing.

"That's odd. He'd usually be the first one here...Where's Luffy?" she asked.

Just as Usopp was about to answer, Luffy came bursting through the door.

"OI! WHY DIDN'T YOU BASTARDS WAKE ME UP!?" he yelled, as he stomped toward his seat.

"It's not our fault you slept late!" Usopp complained "Why the hell did you take over Nami's night shift anyway? You hate the night shift"

"I told you already! I couldn't sleep! Probably from all the sugar from Sanji's pastries yesterday!" Luffy explained

"It's not my fault, you wolfed down 10 whole tray's of cookies! Stupid!" said Sanji, his foot on Luffy's face, "Sheesh~!" he added as he served their Captain his plate.

"He couldn't sleep?" Nami thought. Remembering that she had found Luffy snoring away on Sunny's head the night before. "He covered for me?"

Once again, she felt her chest tighten, and she felt all fuzzy and warm again. She sat down on her seat beside Luffy, a smile playing on her lips as she watched his attempts at stealing food from Zoro's plate. "Even with situations like this, you're still protecting me." she thought to herself.

Nami caught herself staring at Luffy just before Sanji laid down her plate in front of her.

"Oh shit~ I hope Sanji didn't notice" as she looked over Sanji to check on whether he saw her staring at their Captain. Sanji was back on his seat, eating his fill. "Looks like he didn't see" breathing a sigh of relief.

What Nami did not notice however, was that an ever amused swordsman had seen everything that unfolded.

"Hmmm~ now that's interesting." Zoro thought with a smirk.
