The time was somewhere around three or four pm, the boys lay on their backs, staring up at the ceiling. They were just waiting for death at that point. They missed their chance.

Lucas knew what 'Burn the page' meant now. Finney tried lying about their names in a way to escape and be let go, but The Grabber had that same newspaper in hand, throwing it at the boy's feet as he slammed the door shut again. He said he would've let them out if he was honest. They totally and utterly fucked it over.

The phone rings.

This scares the boys, knowing who would be on the other side of the phone.

Lucas takes the phone, putting the black phone to his ear.

"Hello?" Lucas whispers, his head down.

"Hey Luke. What's happening?" Robin's voice haunts the boy as he speaks.

"Robin..." Luke starts to speak, starting to cry already as Finney stands up quickly.

"Hey, dudes. Don't cry"

"I-I'm not. We're not." Lucas answers, wiping his tears as Finney follows.

"Yes you are. I can see you."

"You can?"

"I'm with you. I've been with you this whole time."

"You have?"

"A man never leaves a friend behind. My dad didn't leave his buddies behind when he went to 'Nam. That's why he didn't come home."

Lucas holds back tears as Finney stares at him, listening to Robin speak as they both knew where this was going.

"And I'm not coming home either. And I'm not going to leave you behind."

"Fuck" Lucas whispers, tears spilling down his cheeks as he hands the phone to Finney, not able to deal with the sad feeling of losing one of his closest and only friends.

"We'll be together again soon." Finney chuckles, leaning against the wall.

"Fuck that. You ain't gonna go out like I did."

"We've tried everything. Nothing's worked"

"Yet"

"Robin..."

"Do you remember what I told you?"

"That I needed to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre?"

"Before that"

"That someday I have to stand up for myself"

"'Someday' is today, Finn. Today is the day you stop taking shit from everybody."
