Chapter 15

"How is she?" Luna looked up from her hands being intertwined with North and Luke's to see a police officer standing at the open doors of the ambulance.

"She can't talk," Sean glared, "I need to get her breathing under control."

"That's fine," Officer Laweson nodded. "Can she move her head if I ask her yes or no questions?"

She nodded while Raven seethed, "Nyet. Need calm down."

"She wants to do this, Raven," Luke said softly. "Let her, it may help."

"Fine," Raven sighed, "nyet like though."

"Raven," she gasped, "need...justice...home...please."

"Fine," Raven sighed again. "Just nyet stress."

She nodded and he turned his glare back to the officer. "Miss Fox, do you recognize these two?" he held out his phone and there on the screen was images of two older teenagers wearing hoodies. She shook her head, "I didn't think so. Did you know there are rumors of your place being haunted, Miss Fox?" Luna nodded her head. "They have admitted to breaking into your house because they wanted to go through the haunted house and see if they could even find some sort of souvenirs. Do you have any relics from your family history hiding runaway slaves?"

She shook her head and North sighed in annoyance, "She donated everything to the museum, it's been documented. So what's going to happen to these teenagers? They need to understand how serious this is, they can't just be breaking into random historical places."

She squeezed their hands and they looked at her. She freed her hands and signed, Make them work at the museum so they can learn the history of both my house and the time and make them fix up my windows and whatever else they broke. They need to understand the consequences of their actions and they can also see that just because my home is a historical landmark it doesn't make it automatically haunted.

"You are too kind," Luke shook his head.

"What did she say?" Officer Laweson asked.

"She wants them to do community service at the museum as well as repair the damages to her house so they can learn the consequences of their actions," Luke explained.

"I'll pass on her requests," he nodded. "Thank you for understanding."

"She's a teacher," Sean smiled proudly.

"That explains it," Officer Laweson nodded. "If I have any more questions, I will reach out to you."

"Let's get you to the hospital for a checkup," Sean said and she nodded.

When Luna woke up she realized that she was in a bedroom. Just as she was sitting up the door flung open, "Miss Luna!" Skye squealed in excitement as she bounced on the bed. "Night go potty outside with Maxie."

"Come on, Skye, let Miss Luna wake up," Victor chuckled as he picked her up off the bed. "Sorry, Miss Teacher, she was just super excited when she saw Night outside with Max, our golden retriever."

"It's fine," She said somewhat confused.

"I'll go let Doc know you are awake," he smiled as he carried Skye out of the room.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. "Come in," She called out nervously.

"Morning, Miss Luna," Sean smiled as he came into the room. "How are you feeling?"

"Confused," she admitted.

"Your place isn't safe right now, so we just brought you," he explained as he held her wrist and looked at his watch. "Owen thought it was best for you to stay with us until it is repaired and made safe."

"Made safe?" She asked softly.

"Corey demanded that he put a security system in place," Sean nodded. "He promised that the cameras and alarm won't interfere with the historic features. Why do you stay in such a huge place, Luna?"

"It's my family home," She admitted. "I just can't part with it and I can't bring myself to have strangers staying in it either. It doesn't seem right to just sell it to some strangers and it's where I grew up. I just can't leave it."

"That makes sense," he nodded. "Well, as your doctor, I am ordering you to rest today. You have been through a lot recently and you just need a day of relaxation. We can go back to the house later to get you some clothes and see what kind of damage the boys did so we can start figuring out what needs to be fixed or replaced."

The door opened and they both smiled as Skye walked in while carrying a tray with Marc right behind her. "Here Miss Luna," She smiled as Sean took the tray and sat it in Luna's lap. "I hab pantakes with you. We dink milk. Night eat with Maxie."

"This looks so yummy," Luna smiled, "thank you."
