"MOM!"

Luna looked up from her book and frowned in worry, "Living room, Skye!" Seconds later her daughter came rushing in, "What's wrong?"

Skype fell into her lap and hugged her tightly as she burst into tears. Luna instantly wrapped her arms around her and held her. Even though she was now 14 and taller than her, Luna still thought of Skye as the little girl from her kindergarten class. It was hard to believe that 9 years had passed, and she had legally become her mom eight years ago, they were right when they said time flew by in the blink of an eye. She tried to savor every moment possible with Skye because she knew one day, she wouldn't want to spend time with her anymore.

"It's not fair, Mom! It's not fair!" Skye sobbed.

"What's not fair, Skye?" Luna asked as Skye picked up the pillow of Night and Max and hugged it tightly. Luna's heart ached seeing the memorial pillow of them but she was also glad Skye got comfort from it when she needed to.

"Willow, Mom!" Skye sobbed as she wiped her face. "She's going into the...the...the system and I'll...I'll never see her again!"

"You're best friend?" Luna asked confused. "Why? What happened?" Her phone rang and she sighed, "Sean, can I call you back? Something's going on with Luna."

"I know what's happened," Sean said sadly.

"What's going on, Sean?" Luna asked as Skye put her head in her lap and hugged the memorial pillow to her chest as she cried.

"Willow's parents were taken into custody for child neglect," Sean sighed. "Willow's little brother Eli showed up to daycare with bruises and the same outfit for three days in a row. CPS was called and—"

"I told you I had concerns, Sean," She whispered. "I knew something was wrong."

"I know, Pookie," Sean sighed, "when they investigated, they found the newborn boy malnourished and laying in diapers that indicate he had been wearing it for days. The newborn is under his birth weight."

"Oh goddess, Sean," Luna sighed heartbroken. "He is only two weeks old."

"The parents were arrested and lost their rights they didn't even fight it. They both tested positive for multiple drugs and drugs were found in the house apparently. With no other living relatives, the children will be put in the system and most likely separated."

"Sean," Luna frowned. "Isn't there something we can do? Children shouldn't be separated, and Willow is Skye's best friend. Can't we do something?"

"I wish we could, Pookie," he sighed, "but the only way we can make sure they stay together is if we adopt all three of them."

"Fine," She said determinedly. "Bring them home."

"Are you sure, Luna?" Sean asked. "You know they will have trauma they will have to overcome and bringing in three children at different stages of life is a lot to handle."

"I know what I'm doing, Sean," she said looking at Skye who had cried herself to sleep. "You told me we could adopt if I was ever ready and we already love Willow. It's meant to be, Sean, I know it. I was meant to be her mother and her siblings. How many times have I told you I loved her like Skye, and it broke my heart to send her back to her parents? I knew something was wrong sending her back and now this. I'm supposed to be her mom, Sean, and her brothers too. We can help them overcome everything they've been through like we do everything else, as a family. And just think of how happy it will make Skye, now she won't lose her best friend. It's meant to be, Sean. Please, Sean? Please?"

"Okay, Pookie," he smiled, "I'll speak to the guys, and we will handle everything."

"Yay," She beamed. "Thank you. I love you."

She hung up her phone and smiled softly as she ran her fingers through Skye's hair while she slept. Pretty soon everything would change dramatically but she knew it would be worth it. Skye would get to keep her best friend, she could get to experience every stage of being a mother, and all the hard times will be overshadowed by the love of their family. Dreams do come true, and it happened the moment her student's fathers called her Miss Teacher.
