Httyd Race to the Edge x FEM Reader
(The reader doesn't love anyone like that)
"Royal dragon? Nope, I'm a human."
Y/N, L/N, a normal girl, but not for long. How could a camping trip turn out so horribly, one quick walk turns into quite the adventure...
"ALMOST DONE MOM, I JUST NEED TO GRAB A FEW MORE THINGS" I yelled down to my mom.
"You were supposed to be done packing yesterday!" She yelled back.
"I forgot, sorry!" I yelled down again
"Don't say sorry and get to it." She yelled back
"YES MA'AM" I yelled down the stairs while running to my room.
I grabbed my diary that I use for every camping trip, and put it under all my clothes. We are gonna be camping for 5 day and 5 nights.
"I feel like I'm forgetting something.." I mumbled to myself
"MY DRESS!" I half yelled and rushed to my bathroom to grab it off the door.
"There!" I said and put it into my bag.
"WE'RE LEAVING!!" I heard my mom yell.
I quickly grabbed my two bags, went down the stairs, put my boots in a plastic bag, and put on my shoes.
"What took you so long?" I heard my brother say as I put the bigger of my two bags in the trunk to keep the smaller bag with me for the drive.
"I forgot to finish packing last night" I told him as I sat down and buckled myself in. My mom was driving, my dad was in shotgun, and my brother sat on the left with me on the right.
"I also went to sleep earlier because we had to get up at like 5 in the morning!" I said to him. I looked down at my watch and it read '5:23'.
"You know we only had to get up so early because it's a 4 hour car ride." He said back.
"Hey mom, do you know who else is going?" I asked her as she was pulling out of the driveway
"You already know Synthia, and Nick will be there, with there families." She said
Synthia is a year younger than me but the only girl my age that goes camping. Nick is 15, my age but soon to be a year younger than me. The reason we're going camping this time is because it's my birthday on the 4th day!
"Your cousins, Sarah, Asher, Ally, and Mia, are also going with their families." Mom said
Sarah, she is 13 and her brother, Asher, is 12. Ally, she's 14, but she prefers hanging out with Mia. Mia is 13, she hangs out with Asher and Ally. They are all on my mom's side.
"Your older brother is also coming with his family" my dad chimed in.
Me and my younger brother, Andrew both got excited and had big smiles on our face. Our older brother, Zack, is 23 and has twins with his girlfriend, Emily. Andrew is 12.
"Calm down kids" my mother said and smiled a little.
We both calmed down.
A few minutes later
I yawn. I take out my headphones and put on some music. I fall asleep.
Dream
"Hello, Y/N" a dragon said and came up to me with a purr
"Hello, ${€×=✓¥*!" I said and pet the dragon.
"Wanna go for a fly?!" The dragon said.
"Yes, YES, YES!" I said then ran off the cliff.
I was falling then felt myself steady out and glide, right next to the dragon. I reached up and took something off my head, I look down. 'huh, a crown' I thought to myself.
End of dream
My headphones must have fallen out because when I woke up I heard my dad and brother singing to a song.
"SO I PUT MY HANDS UP AND PLAY MY SONG LET THE BUTTERFLIES FLY AWAY, NODDING MY HEAD LIKE YEAHHHH, MOVING MY HIPS LIKE YEAHHH" They sang to the music as my mom was also slightly singing along. I looked down at my phone.
"Oh wow, I sure slept a while" I said to myself but couldn't really hear myself over the music. I had read, 8:07am. Just about an hour more to go. I smiled while also starting to sing to the song.
20 minutes later
"Alright, guys! Who needs to go to the bathroom. If you need to go, go now." My mom said as she got out to put gas in the car, we are at a gas station.
I grabbed some money from my bag to get some snacks. I headed inside and went to the bathroom. I left the bathroom and grabbed a few snacks and my favorite drink, payed, left then back into the car.
After what seemed like forever we were finally there. I check my phone, 10:57am. Time to find our usual spot. This year is special, not only is it my birthday but I get a tent to myself!
"Come on! Come on!" My younger brother yelled at me as we were nearing the camp site. It was a bigger open area with a bunch of tents, my family owns the area.

As I made my way over to my tent I felt a tug on my shirt.
"Andrew I swear-" but before I could finish I saw Andrew looking at me from a tent on the other side.
"Yeah?!-" he yelled over
"Oh.. it was nothing.." I said then made my way to my tent
"Eh okay?" He replied then continued into his tent.
I put my phone into the bigger of my two bags as well as my watch. I set my bags down and heard a clunk under my smaller bag. I picked up the bag to see a crown. It was silver with a single blue gem in the front, nothing special but the energy radiating from it was very powerful to ignore.

I reached slowly for it in awe..
"Y/N!!! YOUR OLDER BROTHERS HERE!!" My mom yelled.
Before leaving the tent I picked up the crown like thing and put it in my bag.
"Coming mom!"
