The next morning comes as the sun rises over the horizon. Getting up, Izuku throws on a t-shirt and sweatpants; getting ready for his early morning run. Exiting his dorm room, he goes towards the elevator. Before he could even press the button, it stops on his floor with Katsuki standing there with his usual glare. "Morning Kacchan."
The blonde scoffs, acknowledging the greenette's presence as they both descend into the common area, spotting a few of the early risers. Waving and lightly greeting them, the two begin their sprint around campus in mutual silence before Izuku's phone rings midrun.
Taking his phone out and leaving it on speaker, he answers. "Hello?"
"Izuku? You sound a bit out of breath, are you doing your morning run?" A sweet voice speaks through the phone, prompting him to slow his run; Katsuki doing the same as he listens in.
"Yeah, I'm running with Kacchan. What's up? Do you need something?" He questions, curious as to what his mother could want at nearly 6 in the morning.
"No, nothing's wrong. Your father has a few questions he wants to ask you. He's been mumbling since he woke up at 4 and he just finished a quick patrol around the neighborhood. Here, dear." The phone shuffles around a bit before a voice clears their throat.
"Izuku, how've you been my boy? You eating well? Taking care of yourself?" A boisterous voice booms over the speaker, causing for the greenette to roll his eyes. "I heard that your friend is with you. Hello there!"
Katsuki scoffs as Izuku chuckles lightly. "My friend isn't really a morning person, but I'm doing well. We just saw each other yesterday, so what's up? Mom said you had something to ask me?"
"Yes, yes. Well the interview is at around 9 am, we'll be there to pick you and Ochaco up. You did ask her out officially, right?"
"Yes, I did. Before you ask, no I'm not proposing to her anytime soon. We are heroes, first and foremost. Our relationship can be taken slowly." Izuku expresses, not wanting to be pressured into moving fast. "Anything else?"
"Y'all kiss yet?"
"Why are you so interested in knowing that?! No we didn't kiss! She kissed my cheek, but we haven't gone on our date yet! We're going today at around 7:00."
"You taking her out?"
"No, just something simple. I don't want to get distracted watching movies or anything. We can do those types of activities later, but I do want to speak to her and listen to what she has to say. I'm not going to tell you what exactly I planned. It's going to be a surprise." Izuku explains as an understanding hum comes from the other end of the phone.
"Oi, whatever you do, make that shit sappy. I've been forced to hang out with those girl extras once and all they've talked about was fancy restaurants and who's the hottest boy for the semester." Katsuki rolls his eyes, hating that he has knowledge of Shoto being named 'Hot Boy' for the third time in a row.
"Who's this I'm hearing?"
"Oh this is my childhood friend, Kacchan."
"Kacchan?"
"My name is Katsuki Bakugo, but this idiot insists on calling me Kacchan." Katsuki explains as Hisashi hums in acknowledgment.
"Well, Katsuki. You speak like you know from experience. You in a relationship?"
"Been in one for a few months now, why?"
"Well whoever the lucky lady is, I'm sure she's spoiled. I'm just trying to make sure Izuku here doesn't mistreat Ms.Ochaco."
"Uh I'm not dating a fucking woman. My boyfriend spoils me, douchebag. Thanks for assuming, though." The blonde growls, silencing the man on the phone before he clears his throat.
"My apologies, I didn't expect to hear that from someone in Japan. Things have changed over the years, I guess." Hisashi clears his throat a few more times. "So you're gay?"
"My sexuality shouldn't matter to you, asswipe. But yes, I'm fucking gay and out." Katsuki snarls, Izuku taking the phone before shooing his childhood friend away for a moment.
"Dad, that's rude. He's one of my closest friends and I really look up to him. Now if that is all, I'll be getting back to my workout. Goodbye." With that the greenette hangs up, sighing.
~
"Ochaco, are you ready?" The greenette questions, rubbing the back of his neck; dressed in a simple white button up and light brown khakis.
"Yeah, just needed to talk to Tsu about something. But I'm ready now!" She dusts off her light green dress with pink ribbon accents. Her matching flats sparkling gently with glitter. "Let's go."
"Pardon the intrusion." A dull voice interrupts the couple as they pause before exiting. "Where are you two going?"
"Oh Mr.Aizawa. We kind of made plans tonight. Did you need anything?" Izuku questions, tilting his head as Ochaco bends down to Eri with absolute awe; cooing over her.
"Mirio isn't available as he's being evaluated. Sparks of his quirk are slowly coming back as Eri practices. There's a meeting for all staff and faculty at UA, meaning that I need someone to watch over Eri. She suggested you." Aizawa stares blankly as the two, looking them over once more. "So I'll ask again, where are you two going?"
"Oh um, we actually have a date tonight per request of Dracon." Ochaco explains as the ravenette's eyebrows raise exponentially.
"Hisa's back?" He mumbles, loud enough for Izuku to hear.
"Hisa? You just called him Hisa. Do you personally know my dad?" Izuku questions as Aizawa freezes, staring in disbelief.
"Dad? Y-your dad? Hisashi's a dad... of course he is. He could get any girl he wants, not my problem. Nothing ever is my problem. Sorry, just..." He sighs, pinching his nose as he thinks. "Um, I'll talk to Dracon. Stupid ass hero name, but I'll talk to him. You two can hold off on the date for just today."
"Can do." Izuku sighs in annoyance, watching as Ochaco picks up Eri; playing with her. "Actually. I change my mind. You're going to need to ask someone else to watch Eri unless you tell me what I need to know."
"Are you threatening me, Midoriya? I'd chose my words carefully if I were you."
"It's not a threat if lives aren't in danger, now is it? It's just a minor inconvenience and a minor who becomes an inconvenience to you. She's your problem to begin with, so you shouldn't have a problem with watching her for this meeting or even getting briefed afterwords." Izuku shrugs his shoulders as the room goes silent, listening to their conversation. "Don't take this the wrong way, Mr.Aizawa. I'm just tired of people telling me when I can and can't do something, especially now that I'm in a relationship that is very likely to last a lifetime."
"What do you want to know?" The man scoffs, staring down the child who glares back with the same level of intensity.
"How do you know my father?"
"Childhood friends."
"What age?"
"4. We met in daycare, your father had a very weak and potentially dangerous quirk. I was the only one who could turn off his quirk back then."
"What's your relationship with him? Cut the crap and don't give me the childhood friends bull crap." Izuku scowls, the whole room in utter shock that the greenette has the guts to curse at the older man who chuckles with amusement.
"I'm your uncle."
