Caroline, I and another girl who had found her mate amongst the Lycans, Terri, stood on the side, watching the entire thing play out. Another pack we visited had presented their young women to the Lycans and were given a speech again.

Everyone, even Greyson, stood in the line, stiff and as unmoving as a stone. But he was a very, very handsome stone.

The speech was given and the Lycans stepped out of their rows to check all the girls before them. My eyes followed Greyson as he checked, girl after girl. As soon as he dismissed them, they turned away from the lines with disappointment reflecting from their faces.

"Jealous?" Caroline snickered next to me and I looked up at her, before shaking my head.

"No. Maybe. I don't know," I said and frowned, before turning my gaze back to the girls. "Actually, I was wondering, why do everyone want to be the Goddess' daughter? Sound like a lot of work." Caroline chuckled and shrugged.

"Why do you think they want to anyways?" Terri asked from the other side of Caroline.

"Look at the way everyone looks disappointed when they are dismissed as not the one," I said, nodding my head slightly forward.

"Come on, Katja. The immense power that comes along with the title. Plus there's a whole pack full of pretty hot and ripped guys that will do anything to serve her. Of course some girls crave it," Caroline scoffed.

I frowned. Power. "But I've never heard of them get families, mates. Must be a pretty lonely life, especially since their family is always in an unreachable place. How sad is that? Having no one."

Caroline, crossed her arms over her chest. "It's for the greater good." I didn't want to that. Because not only could the daughter do a lot of good, she could also bring a lot of destruction. There are stories, about a few of the daughter that might have turned to the wrong path before they were found by the Lycans. That's why it's important for the daughter to be found.

I felt something vibrate in my pocket and I pulled out the phone Greyson gave me to hold. Across the screen flashed a number I didn't know of, but no name. Yet I instictively swiped my finger across the screen and lifted it to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Katja!"

"Simon!" I cheered and walked away from the girls, walking towards the cars on the other side of the pack house. "I miss you so much, buddy." I sighed.

"We miss you too. We were just wondering how you were. I know we saw yesterday and all.."

"I'm good, Si. Probably a long way from home, but good," I answered and leaned my back against the wall behind me. "And it's alright to call, Greyson told you that too, remember?"

"I don't like him, Katja," Simon muttered and I chuckled.

"I know you don't, but you'll one day understand. Because there'll be a time where you're going to meet this amazing girl and she's going to be everything you've ever wanted. You'd do anything for her," I spoke softly. Simon was silent for a little while.

"Yes, I know. And I will do anything for her, Katja! I'll bring her the moon, if that's what she wants," Simon exclaimed and I chuckled again siletly.

"Yes. You'll be a great mate to her, I know you will."

Simon was silent for a time again, before his doubtful voice entered the device again. "Is he good to you? That Grey guy. Is he a good mate?" His voice betrayed his fright for my reaction. He's been taught since the beginning that mates are someone who respect each other, love each other and care for each other.
