Fours POV
I'm in the car going 200 miles an hour when the speed limit is 40. I don't care though because for all I know she's lying on the floor out cold. I hear a siren behind me, dammit, I've been caught by the police. This might take me longer to get there then I planned, I decide they can join me getting to Tris' house and see what her father is undoubtedly doing to her. I speed up going at the high speed of 250 mph, which only results in them going faster and more cars coming after me. They pull me over and all I can think of is how I let Tris down, she needs me and I'm pulled over by the police! God. I'm such an idiot.
"License and registration please." He asks.
"Please. I'm in a hurry, I need to go see my girlfriend." I plead, but he just gives me a look.
"Then give me your license and registration and we can be on our way." He asks me starting to get annoyed, he starts tapping his foot and I can tell he won't listen for much longer.
"Her name is Tris Prior and it's her father's release date from prison. Arrested for abuse. Please, I called her and he picked up, I'm worried, he's really hurt her before, she tried getting a restraining order but it just takes so long and so much money and it's not like were rich, I'm sorry it's just that I need to g-"
"Ok, ok. I have my back up, we will follow you to her house, if she is not in trouble, you will be arrested for speeding and lying to the authorities, if she is, all charges will be dropped." With that he walks off and gets into his car. I start up the car and drive down the road.
Caleb's POV
"Let me out!" I scream at the top of my lungs, I have no idea what is happening out there due to the fact that my father hit me over the head with some object and knocked me out. He then locked me in my room which is my location. I'd like to say I was raging but kept it together pretty well, but then I would be lying and I believe in giving real information, where lies just make things so much more difficult. "Hello!" I shout. My voice is starting to get hoarse from the constant yelling but I refuse to stop until I am released. I bag on the door. If only I took gym class more seriously I might have been able to knock the door down or at least break it but all I did when I tried getting out was twist my ankle and bang up my shoulder. I hear glass shattering downstairs and something hitting the ground. "No!" I am trying with every bone in my body to get the door open. I get this sudden urge to curse but I have never before said anything along the lines. I shall not say anything. I lean my back against the wall and slowly slide down, and start banging my head against the wall. Then everything goes quiet for a mere second before a gunshot goes off. I'm up on my feet banging on the door with everything I have in me within the time frame of a millisecond. "TRIS!" then my door flies open revealing a cop and Four. I run downstairs shoving past them, but when I get downstairs Tris is nowhere in sight. I look around franticly running throughout the house, when a hand comes down on my shoulder stopping me in my tracks.
"Caleb, calm down its ok, Tris is outside getting put into the ambulance, they said she has some injuries but should be ok." I calm down my heavy breathing already beginning to return to normal. I walk outside with Four by my side and make my way to the ambulance in front of the house. I see Tris inside and I climb in Four explaining as to why I'm here. He then leaves me to talk to my sister alone. I let my tears out and stroke the side of her face mumbling how much I love her.
Tris POV
I wake up with yet another tremendous headache. I groan and try to open my eyes but am stopped by the blinding light. I hear voices coming closer to me all asking me questions but one stands out above the rest. My precious Four. I slowly open my eyes finally able to because since my friends are standing over me they block out all the bright lights from my view which I am very thankful for.
"This is going to sound all cliché and such but where am I?" I ask hoarsely, earning a slight laugh from everyone. "Oh, I'm in the hospital aren't I. When can I go home, I don't like hospitals." Everyone seems to cheer up at my joking mood and all rush to tell me that I can go home with minimal cuts. Although they don't say anything about bruising and judging on the pain radiating through my body, I feel I have no shortage on those.
