The world was spinning. Everything around him contorted and twisted into a whirlpool, with him as the center. He felt dizzy, like he was being squeezed into a thin tube, his guts pressing up together and throat filling with bile. The only anchor was the warm arm he clung onto, fingers digging into the clothed skin and the feeling of a round, cool ball in his other hand.

Suddenly, his feet hit solid ground and the spinning stopped and the dizziness evaporated with a fizz. He held on tighter to the arm as he almost tripped on his own feet.

Looking around, Draco realised that they had reached Sirius' house.

The walls were dusty and so was the floor. A shiver went up his spine as the floor beneath his feet creaked, his eyes widened when the door in front of them opened slowly and a figure walked out, wand raised.

Draco's ex-professor, Remus Lupin, walked forward cautiously. His eyes were narrowed at Harry, he didn't notice Draco. Anxiety coursed through him.

"State your name," He said.

"Harry Potter."

"Which was the spell I taught you in third year to fight your fear?"

"Expecto Patronum." Harry said, "Remus, it's me." He said breathlessly.

Remus sighed, "I just had to make sure," He ran forward and wrapped his arms around Harry, "It's so good to see you, son,"

Draco stayed still, thinking, maybe if he would stay still enough then he would turn invisible.

"It's good to see you too, Remus. Where's Sirius?"

"Right here, Bambi," Came the familiar voice from behind Remus. Harry's godfather– or should I say, dogfather– was standing with his arms wide open, eyes shining happily. He looked healthier than ever.

"Padfoot!" Harry exclaimed, his tone like that of a child when they saw an ice cream. Harry ran forward and hugged Sirius tightly, eyes prickling with tears.

Sirius's chest tightened, even his hug reminded him of James. He ran a hand over his head, eyes stinging with unshed tears.

When Draco saw this exchange, he felt his heart warm up. His lips lifted up in a longing yet fond smile. His eyes glossed over and he felt his throat clog up.

Sometimes, he wished his family wasn't so fucked up and they could have a normal life with hugs and bedtime stories and no dark lords staying as a guest at their home.

He longed for the days that he could never have.

Suddenly, a cold feeling spread over him. It was like someone was staring at him. The dazed happy feeling melted and he snapped his head to find Remus Lupin staring at him with gritted teeth.

Draco gulped in fear.

"Malfoy?!" He heard a growl from where Harry and Sirius had stood hugging mere moments ago.

He found his cousin staring at him, mouth twisted into a sneer and teeth gritted. "What are you doing here?! How did you get in?" He raised his wand and pushed Harry behind him.

Remus became alert, his hand near his wand but he didn't yield it.

"I–" Draco stuttered, terrified to be in the limelight suddenly. A sweat broke over his forehead and he tried to find Harry with his eyes, searching for an ounce of comfort and safety.

"Are you spying on us?" Sirius growled.

"Sirius!" Harry shouted from behind him, catching their attention. "I brought him here with me!"

Sirius's wand dropped from his hand and he struggled to catch it before glancing up at his godson with a mortifying look. "You brought him here? Why?"

"Because he didn't have anywhere else to go." Harry sighed, frowning, "He ran away from his home because Voldemort was going to give him the Dark Mark."

"How are you sure he isn't spying on you? And why the fuck did he meet you? He could've gone anywhere!"

"Language, Padfoot!" Remus interjected.

"Says the one who says fuck fifty times a day," Sirius retorted before passing a short glare at Draco who wanted to dig up a hole and die.

"He didn't come to me. I found him on the train. It was a complete coincidence," Harry rolled his eyes, "He didn't even know where I lived."

Sirius didn't look convinced so he asked one more question to console himself, "What if he has the Dark Mark?"

Remus let out a sigh, "Even I can see his forearms, he's wearing a half-sleeved t-shirt. Don't act blind, Pads. Let the boys go see their rooms and let us go prepare dinner."

"But love–!" Sirius protested feebly but he was pushed towards the kitchen by Remus.

"That went well," Harry passed Draco an amused smile.

"You consider that well, Potter? They despise me."

"So did I but look at us now," Harry shrugged and pulled him up the stairs by his arm, "Come on, you can have the bedroom next to mine. I'll show you."

Draco sighed and walked slowly up the stairs. He couldn't believe his mother had lived in this house when she was young. He had never visited this place, not even when he was a child and had begged his mother to see the place where she had grown up.

Although, it was better she didn't bring him here. His younger self wouldn't have been happy seeing such a dark house with beheaded house-elf heads stuck on the wall and his scary relatives sneering at him through their portraits.

After he saw his bedroom (it was very shabby but it would be enough), they walked down the stairs very quietly (too quiet. Draco wondered why) and towards the kitchen where he could smell food being served, making his stomach growl with hunger.

Sirius remained quiet and Remus smiled when they walked in.

They sat down. Draco still hadn't spoken a word in front of the two grown men. He kept his lips sealed, not knowing if he should be saying something in front of them in fear of fucking everything up.

Sirius speared a pea on his plate rather forcefully on his plate and grunted loudly.

"Okay that's enough awkward silence. I want answers."

"I already told you," Harry huffed.

"This time, he's going to answer," He pointed his fork at Draco, who turned paler than his usual pale self.

"Tell me everything." He demanded.

Draco gulped down a glass of water before sitting up straight and answering everything.
