Song: I can't handle change- Roar

AFTER CAREFULLY CARRYING FINN INTO THE BASEMENT, THE GRABBER WENT TO GET JADE.

He was quite frankly pissed off from her pulling on his hair and hitting him, so instead of carrying her in bridal style, he dragged her by the wrist.

Her head thumped at the bottom stair as he kicked her into the room, then grabbing her once again by the wrist and pulling her onto the dirty mattress.

For some odd reason— he didn't do this to Finney. Even though he had cut the grabber's arm with a sharp tool of some sort, The Grabber didn't mind.

He was still angry either way.

Jade groaned as she rubbed her head, slowly opening her eyes. But it didn't feel like she opened her eyes, since, they burned and stinged— and she couldn't see anything.

She sat up horrified, patting around her for her brother. "Finney.. Finney!" She whisper yelled.

"He's there, on your left," a voice said. She knew it to be The Grabber's.

She closed her eyes in an attempt to stop the burning. "Please.. please don't hurt him. I'm sorry. We're sorry." She waited for an answer, nothing.

"Please," she said again, finally feeling her brothers chest beating against the mattress. He was sleeping, but alive— none the less.

The sound of footsteps, then a door opened— then slammed shut. He left. Jade pushed herself back against the stone wall, wrapping her arms around her legs.

When Finney woke up, Jade's sight had been getting slightly better. It was all blurry— but she could make out where she was.

A dark cold basement, with a mattress against the back wall in the center. A toilet was in the corner, and that's all she could see from against the stone wall. But that changed, when she heard a phone ringing.

It came from just beside her, so she looked up and diagonal, to see a blur of black. It was a phone hanging on the wall.

Jade leaned her hands against the wall, standing up on the mattress. But she stepped off of it to pick up the phone. "Hello?" She called into the phone.

Static.. more static, then heavy breathing.

And that continued for a couple more seconds, but by then Jade hung up the phone in frustration. It must be broken.

She flopped back down on the mattress, crawling over to Finney and sleeping next to him.

The next time she awoke, Finney was awake as well. The Grabber was just finished speaking to him, and left the basement.

Finney followed after, speed walking over to the metal door with a scowl on his face. After a failed attempt of opening the door, he walked over to another section of the room.

Jade fumbled to her feet and followed, stopping in front of a toilet. Finney had just turned on the light— he turned back to look at his sister.

He looked scared yet angry at the same time.

They walked back to the main part of the basement, staring at the phone on the wall in front of them. Jade watched as Finney picked up the phone, but then noticed it wasn't attached to anything.

The siblings sat back down on the mattress, the sunlight barely brightening up the area.

Finney laid back down, so Jade did the same. She couldn't sleep, but was exhausted at the same time. She shook in fear ever so slightly, grabbing her brothers hand and squeezing it in assurance.

She shut her eyes, her breath hitching.

Jade woke up after a long nap. She rolled over onto her side, watching her brother sleep as best he could manage under the circumstances. But he quickly woke up as well, sitting up.

Finney went to try the phone again. "It doesn't work," a voice— the grabber, said from somewhere in the room.

Jade jumped in a startle, slowly turning her head to see the man in the shadows. "..not since I was a kid. Hang it up." He was standing in the doorframe, and Jade had noticed for the first time he was wearing s strange mask, which made the silhouette of his head appear to have devil horns.

"I know you both are scared, and you wanna go home.. I'll take you home soon— just that.." he sighed, looking to the side and back at them. "Everything's just fucked up."

He looked down in disappointment. "And I gotta be upstairs for a while." He went to turn around as Jade bit her lip.

"...something's come up!.." he added.

"What?" Finney asked him. Jade stood up as well. She was speechless.

"Nevermind, what." The Grabber replied.

"Did someone see something?" Finney squinted at the man. "Are the police coming?" Finney widened his eyes slightly. "If you let us go before they get here, we promise we won't tell."

Jade cut Finney off. "Yeah, yeah. We won't say a thing."

The Grabber laughed. "It's not the police."

Finney gulped. "Someone though? Someone's coming."

"I'll scream," he said.

Jade nodded. "Anyone up there will hear us—" Finney continued for her. "If someone's upstairs they'll hear us."

"No he won't! Not with the door shut."

"He? Who is he?" Jade asked.

"With the door shut, nobody can here anything down here."

Finney screamed for help, ignoring the grabber's words.

Jade shook her head, going up to Finney and grabbing his shoulder. She turned him around with a frown. "You heard him. No one will hear us."

"And you just expect me to believe that? I have to at least try."

He continued, Jade sighing as she watched. "It's no use Finney."

He scoffed at his sister, going over to the window and attempting to reach the metal bars, grunting.

He fell back down after many attempts. "Stop. Stop. Stop it.." Jade heard him mumble to himself.

"If anyone would've broken that window, they already would've done it."

He turned around to see his sister crossing hee arms at him sadly.

"Robin would've done it."

I know this is supposed to be a Robin fanfic and not just a Finney and Jade sibling fanfic? Idk.

But don't you worry, it'll get interesting soon. I mean, you guys know what's happening in the next chapter.. Bruce's phone call!!!

I'm so excited for the next few chapters, I don't think Robin is going to be in this one— but I have something planned so we can see more of the two. :-)

Also! I'm planning on making a new cover for the book— I can't find one that I think looks good enough in my eyes but I'm gonna keep trying.
