Song: Deceptacon- Le Tigre"FUCKING BITCH.." Jade mumbled to herself, thinking of the previous "fight."
She dabbed the bag of peas on her cheek, the dark gash burning.
When she fallen to the ground after being pushed, a sharp rock scraped her cheek.
She stared at herself in the bathroom mirror, examining the wound.
She got on her tiptoes, snatching the box of bandages off the shelf. Jade never knew why her father stored them so high up, he was a strange man. Only Finney could reach them.
"That looks like it hurts," a voice said. She snapped her focus over to the door, only to see Gwennie standing in the door frame.
Jade snorted. "Yeah. Are you okay though?"
Gwennie nodded, walking into the bathroom and shutting the door. She stole a bandaid from Jade, putting it over her arm. Just a small scratch, just enough for it to burn.
"Imagine how that cut would feel if you put hand sanitizer on it.. it would hurt like hell," Jade said, wiping the blood off her cheek.
Gwennie laughed. "Don't give those cock sucking boys any ideas."
The sisters laughed, watching each other in the mirror.
"Ew," Jade muttered to herself, looking at the dead frog laid in front of her. Her teacher spoke about the assignment as she groaned.
"Alright class," he began. "It is the day you've been dreading all semester .. frog dissection day."
"—Uhm, pick a partner." Jades head quickly looked over to Finney, who was on the other side of the classroom. She pointed to herself then at him. He nodded, getting ready to stand up and walk over— but Jade already made her way over in a quick movement.
"Remember! You will be paired with this partner for the rest of the year," their teacher reminded them.
Jade pursed her lips into a thin line, looking at the frog on her brothers desk. "I'm not too excited for this," she told him.
"You and me both." Finney scrunched his nose. "They're gonna stink up the classroom I bet."
Jade looked over to see Donna, a classmate of theirs— who happened to be Finney's huge crush, walked over to the two, her books clutched tightly to her chest.
"Hey Finney— Jade," she smiled at them both. "Can I be your partner Finney?" She paused, looking at his twin. "If you don't mind."
Jade nodded as Finney looked at her with plead. She winked at him, walking over to her friend who had no partner.
"Donna .. Donna," Gwennie taunted as the family walked home. She made kiss faces with sound effects.
Jade grinned widely, laughing at her actions. "Donna and Finney sitting in a tree.." she began as well.
Finney put a finger up to her mouth, signaling her to shush. "Don't talk, you're the same with.. Robin."
Jade looked down, trying to ignore him as Gwennie continued. "Oh Finney, will you be my lab partner?"
"Shut up! You jerks." He yelled at his siblings with a smile.
Gwennie giggled. "Alright, see you tomorrow."
"Where ya going?" Finney said as Gwennie stopped walking and turned around.
"I'm staying over at Susie's tonight. It's Friday, so.."
"I'll look after dad," Jade offered. As Gwen said her goodbyes and turned the corner.
The twins continued their walk, continuing their conversation about Donna and Finney— this time more mature.
They walked down a street, full of laughter, not even noticing the black van approaching them.
It parked at the end of the road, just at the intersection Jade and Finney were about to cross.
A man came stumbling out, dropping his groceries along the way. "Ohhh!" He exclaimed as a bunch of apples rolled out the paper bag.
They stopped, watching the mysterious man. Jade furrowed her eyebrows, stepping slightly in front of Finney and tilting her head.
"You goof," the man cackled. "Well isn't that peachy keen!" He said, kneeling over to pick up the food.
"You need some help?" Finney interrupted as he said this.
"Hah Hah.. you see that?" The man said, tossing something. Jade ignored it, staring at the man's face paint with frustration. She crossed her arms, looking down at her shoes.
"Would you hand me my hat?" He pointed to said hat.
Jade shook her head furiously, but Finney was quick to pick it up. "Yes sir," the man spoke once again. He stood up, smiling.
"I... am a part time magician," he told Finney. But Jade wasn't listening. The man was strangely familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on where she had seen him before.
"Would you like to see a magic trick?" He asked them.
"Sure." Finney shrugged.
He stepped forward as the man shook a bottle. Jade followed him, remembering where she had seen him before. "Finney," she remarked, going out to grab his hand.
"Are those black balloons in there?" Finney said alerted, shaking his sister's hand away.
"Finney.. let's go," she told him, grabbing his upper arm.
Jade got closer, going to drag her brother away quickly, but the grabber was quicker. He pulled open the van door and pulled out the balloons, stuffing them into their faces.
The bottle he had been shaking was sprayed at their faces. Jades eyes burned as she screamed, attempting to pull her brother away as her vision grew blurry.
She grabbed the man's hair, ripping a chunk off as she tried to kick him in the shins, unsuccessfully. Her leg flailed at the air as she was pushed into the back of the van.
