"Hey illu" "hm?" "Can i be by your side forever?" A little y/n gripped her friends hand.

Illumi never saw y/n as a friend as he saw friends as useless not needed, so he could never put a name to what him and y/n where. As much as he knew they where basically siblings or.. lovers. Either worked.

"Yeah, you can be by my side forever" illumi said patting y/n's head, she smiled and hugged his arm tightly.

Y/n's mindset had never been a complete one. She needed others to make decisions for her so when asking for something, the zoldycks gave it to her.

Her relationship to the Zoldyck's was complicated, on one of the many days where she got comanded by one of the many random people shes met, she had nothing to do.

So, the person said to go open all the doors to the Zoldyck estate. Her not being able to make any decision on her own tried, and failed.

She felt a dread. She hated it and did not want that dread of failure when told to do something. She trained, and trained lone behold the day she open the very first door, there was a boy there. He'd seemed surprised that a girl so young and unprofessionaly trained opened it.

What he didnt know is they where the same age. "Oh hello, are you one of the zoldycks?" She asked raising a hand to her bored eyes that didnt look like they'd ever raise. "I am. Why do you ask." The boy asked skepticaly.

"I hear you guys are a family of assassins, and are really strong. Ive been told i dont make my own decisions. I was told to open all the doors right here, i had a dread when i couldnt do it the first time, so i trained. I would most appreciate it if i could come by time to time to see my progress." The zoldyck was taken aback.

"I can ask my mother" he was confused and with that she nodded going right back to the door having a little but not to much trouble opening it "bye~" she said plainly and walking out.

And as time went on she did it at the age of 16, she opened all the doors without trouble. Kikyo having witnessed it as she was leaving was surprised and took the girl into care. Kikyo already knew the girl and illumi had met for the girl got permission to continue trying to open the door.

In the time she came back to open the doors illumi came to observe. In that time they became close together, to the point where when y/n passed out he would take care of her in secret.

"Illumi i see you've taken interest in this girl, i hear she doesnt make decisions for herself often, but to the fact that she asked be by your side for some time. I think ill let it happen." Kikyo could see the 2 eventually becoming lovers and that was fine with her.

From then on she would always be around illumi, and when he went on missions she would sit and wait in front of his bedroom door.

-One time-

Itd been a week and illumi had yet to return from his mission, she hadn't eaten or anything her bosy was going to frail, no movement was ever made after she sat down. "Y/n, dear come eat" it was kikyo, besides illumi she had the second best relationship with her. "Okay.." y/n had gotten up with the slight help of kikyo to the dinning room, where the rest of the family (except illumi of course) was.

"Ah y/n, you've come to join us." Y/n looked up from her feet to the look at the head of the house "yeah, kikyo told me to." She fumbled for a minute "and i guess im a little hungry" she bowed her head slightly to silva in respect "well then come on and sit down" she did as told and sat in her usual seat.

But to no avail she went right back in front of illumis door. Lone behold the next day illumi finally returned home, and as soon as the house doors opened y/n bolted towards him, giving him a bone crushing hug. Illumi quite used to this already picked her up bridal style and went to her room.

"I see youve taken a little care of yourself" illumi said while brushing your hair. Hair brushing was something shed ask for every time he came back, he didnt mind. "Kikyo told me to go eat dinner…. I was a little hungry so i went with purpose." Y/n looked up at illumi with a small smile, and with that they continued on.

When alluka was born y/n took interest but not too much as to only stray from illumi for an hour, in that hour she played with alluka and killua.

When nanika came to light y/n was visible scared of her. She wouldnt play or even talk about her, she was so scared that if illumi was around alluka or nanika she would astray from him until she left. Mostly hanging around kikyo and grandpa zeno.
