A Collection of Letters for My One & Only

V{pt.1}

Dear best friend, partner, companion;

The day that I knew you were going to visit for sure sent me to the stars. I had never felt so excited to see someone and to spend time with said person. I want to say I didn't know what you did to me to make me feel that way but I know the reason and I've known the reason since we started to date. You made me fall for you, just you. Being yourself was more than enough to make me love and I will always love you.

During your visit, it was in mid to late December, snow covered the ground, the brisk cold air stung our noses, the Airbnb you rented was warm, and you were as cuddly as ever. We had spent a day walking with our siblings and their partners around the town, catching up and getting snacks that we would end up binging on. On that day, we wanted to leave the group and the Airbnb earlier than the rest so we could spend one on one time together without interpretation.

As we left, you told our siblings to sit in front of the windows while I got my shoes on. We walked out but instead of leaving, you brought to the side of the house where the kids were sitting at the windows. You leaned your phone against the cold glass as played our song, Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley. You grabbed my hands with yours and you told me how you felt about me with promises of spending forever together as we swayed to the music. I hugged you to hide the tears falling down my face and the immediate feeling of shyness I didn't want you to see but you already knew I was shy.

Then, you made me face you, tears staining my face as well as your jacket, you said I love one last time as my boyfriend, and ignoring the frozen snow around us, you got down one knee and proposed to me. I said yes and kissed you while crying with you. We said 'I love you countless times after that, excited that we were finally engaged.

The day we kissed, when you proposed, and I moving in with you will always be my favorite days for all of eternity. I love you my dear.
