Chapter 4

"Guys! Hikaru called just now! There's something that I need to tell you." she said.

"What's it, Madoka?" Gingka enquired as I could sense a surprising news.

Instead of answering him, Madoka just looked around in the room, reading everyone's faces. It annoyed me to some extent that she hasn't told us about it yet.

"Come on Madoka. Just end the suspense right here." Masamune said impatiently.

"Uh.. it's.." she started "Well... As the registration for the championship is over finally, it's been out just now that all the participants need to report at the stadium... There's... Some announcement that is to be done it seems." She explained.

"Alright then! What's the problem? Let's get going!" Yu uttered excited.

"Sorry Miyoko, but we need to go now but you can stay here with Madoka till then." Gingka said, turning to Miyoko.

She just chuckled lightly at this and said "No worries Gingka. And you see, I think you are going to get a surprise." She completed with a wink.

Gingka blinked cluelessly. These people waste a lot of time. Without waiting for them, I left the room. I could hear Benkai yelling from behind and following me.

After wondering around for sometime, I was on my way to stadium. After taking a left from the next corner, my eyes widened to see that girl entering that stadium as well.

She's also a participant here huh. A smirk played on my lips at this. Nice, now I will settle this with my victory.

As I entered the stadium, I saw Hikaru giving instructions to some people. I thought about taking some time in looking around and see if I could get a clue about the announcement.

Based on what I have heard till now, it has something to do with the format of competitions in the championship. Maybe there's some kind of change in it.

Soon Gingka and others arrived as well and after some waiting, finally the authorities showed up for the announcement.

After some boring welcome speeches, finally Gingka's father showed up.

"Welcome beybladers! We all know the importance of team-spirit in the sport that we love by all our hearts and that's the reason that we have decided to change the format of this championship a bit." Gingka's father started. There were surprised whispers in the crowd of bladers.

"This time, it will be a tag team competition and..." He paused to increase the tension of the crowd as he raised his voice again announcing the real twist "....we will be choosing the tag teams randomly without any competitions for that!"

That's quite a bomb that he just dropped on each and every of us.

"So, be ready bladers and brace yourselves because you can be tagged with your best friend but who knows, it can be your worst rival as well!" He said in a loud and excited voice.

That's nonsense. I don't care about who will be my partner as long as it doesn't get in my way of defeating Gingka.

Just then, the screen which was showing the director's face up till now, went black for a second.

The next image projected on it was of all the beybladers that were participating in the championship.

Then the pics were shuffling around only to make everyone in the stadium go quiet. One could hear the sound of a pin being dropped at that time. It was being published on television, live.

I am sure that so many people are waiting for this tag team reveal part.

Its usual to get your competitors assigned randomly like this but getting partnered up with someone for the whole championship? Its going to be a pain.
