Scott's POV
"Deborah that's absolutely ridiculous why would he up the dosage like that? The patients already have a hard time handling the dosage we are giving them. It will just make them more hostile" I hear Y/N ask.
"Because Nelson is going to do anything he can to make progress with the serum" Deb says to her.
"That's ridiculous" Y/N says as she holds up a syringe to the light checking for bubbles before walking over to one of the two patients in the room.
She gently grabs the patient arm which was strapped to the medical table. She slowly inject the serum into the patient before pulling the needle from the patients arm. Screams echoed through the building. Y/N turns away from the screaming patient making eye contact with me since I had been in the room observing the trial. She knew how much the screams bothered me.
'Im okay' I mouthed to her giving her a small smile.
She nods before turns back the patient to help Deb. She monitors the patient with Deb until vitals started to calm. She marks down results slowly making sure to not make a mistake. The patient on the other medical table starts to panic knowing it was their turn.
"Hey hey it's okay" Y/N says in a gentle voice towards the panicking patient.
Deb looks towards me in confusion as Y/N continues to calm the patient.
"Please don't make me do this" the patient sobs.
"I know you don't want to do this but think about all the lives your helping by going through this" Y/N says to them. She grabs a chair thats nearby and sits down next to the patient. "Is this your first trial?"
"Yes" the patient answers.
"I remember my first trial" Y/N says calmly.
"You were in a trial before?"
"I have. It's actually why I get to be here working on trials to help others" Y/N says as she grabs another syringe the was prepped.
The patient calms down and holds their arm out to Y/N. Y/N checks the syringe for bubbles before injecting the serum into the patients arm. Y/N sets the syringe aside and gets up to grab the patients file only for the patient to grab Y/N's arm harshly.
"Y/N!" I yell as I get up running over to pull the patient off her.
Y/N's arm was a bright shade of red by the time I got the patients hand off Y/N's arm. I pull Y/N protectively into my chest as I back us from the patient who was reaching out for Y/N.
"No please" the patient screams out in pain.
I look down to see Y/N look at the patient sadly. Y/N turn to bury her face againt my shoulder as the patient pleads for Y/N to help them.
"Get her out of here" Deb says to me.
I nod as I lead Y/N out of the trial room. She presses herself more into my side as I get her Wesley's office. I quickly knock on the door. Wesley opens the door and looks down at Y/N.
"What happened?" Wesley asks letting us in.
"A patient grabbed her during the trial. I don't think it was ment to be harsh but with the serum it ended up before a hard grabbed" I explain causing Wesley to nod.
He grabs Y/N's are to examine it. "You okay?" Wesley asks her.
"Yeah. I'm alright." She says quietly. "Wesley. The new dosage is too much for these patients"
"New dosage?" Wesley asks.
"Nelson asked us to up the dosage. Did you not know?" Y/N asks.
"I was not aware of this change. I will talk to him about it. Are you sure you are okay?" Wesley asks.
"Wesley. Im fine. The patient grabbed because they found comfort in me. They didn't mean to grab that hard" Y/N explains.
Wesley nods in acknowledgment before turning to me. "May I speak to you out in the hallway for a moment?" Wesley asks me.
"Of course sir" I say looking at Y/N once more before stepping put into the hallways.
Wesley follows me out before closing the door to the office. "Y/Ns become very fond of you Scott" Wesley says to me.
Blush flushes my fave quickly. "She is?" I question.
"She is which leads me to my question. Would you mind coming along to her procedure with her and i? She also seems to find comfort in your presence and I think she will be more comfortable with you being there as well"
"I don't mind at all" I say smiling slightly.
Knowing Y/N found comfort in my presence made my heart sore. It was hard to deny how fond I was of the gorgeous girl. The more I spent time with her the more my feelings grew.
"Great! Thank for being there for my sister. It's nice to see her happy for once." Wesley says smiling.
