Mizukk is presented as a self-confident, independent, and mature character; portrayed as the older-sister-like figure offering advice and often appearing to save the others who need some help. She usually works alone. Mizuki is also shown to be very smart, although she often masks her knowledge of things.

Mizuki was a regular child in the past who maintained a cheerful and caring presence in the royal family. Her father (Masahiro Hotaru Van Hellsing) was a monster hunter and her mother (Akane Miyako Carmilla) from the royal dracula family as the second duchess Carmilla. Her mother's family is half vampire and dracula. Mizuki love her mother very much.
Her mother maybe a strict and disciplined person for teaching Mizuki how to become the next duchess, she always has a good time with Mizuki whenever she accomplishes the duchess's mission. Heritage, future queen, and rule over the kingdom, isn't what Mizuki wanted. Someday, if she become the next duchess of Carmilla family, she wish her mother smile and happy again. Mizuki very sad to see Akane standing alone and never allowed to show anyone of her sorrow, happiness, and smile. Masahiro, she still love her father too, but he always busy on his work.
After Mizuki was already 10 years old, one of the clan kingdoms attacked Carmilla mansion and burned everything. Akane sacrifices her life for Mizuki to escape from the mansion. “Remember this, you're mine, only mine. No one else... you'll always be my daughter.” Akane's last word to little Mizuki with her warm smile before the part of the wall of the room collapsed plus flames. Mizuki cries loudly as her father quickly carries her from that place.
Those bad times, especially seeing her mother die right in front of her eyes, never forget. Don't was his daughter traumatic because of what happen to her, Masahiro keep teach her become more independent, knowledgeable,and stronger someday.
