chapter 30: "he's you're stepbrother!!"

The next two days pass quickly. Berk is discharge from hospital, and me andmy mom start talkin again. i hang out with jasmine asda and jorge. mr brown keeps being hot and anoying and i dread me and heathers cleaning punisment next week

I ask Brok to tutor me in chemistry and we have our first sesion. He takes his role very seriosly, as he teaches me bout chemical bonds and electrosynthesis and freezing water. We don't talk about the other kind of chemistry, the one betwen us like unspoke words.

I dont tel anyone about the kiss, not even jasmine or asda. me and satan only exchang formalities in our chemistry lesons. Jorge starts dating his crush Onion or whatever his name was. Oreo? orion? anway who cares. Asda blushe everytime we bring up bender

At lunch i bring up jasmine's party, which is tonight. "So i aske brok and berk if they wanted to go to youre party jas"

she looks at me fast "and what did they say"

i smile "theyre both coming"

she nods "ok then. great. yes thats good"

me and asda exhancge glances. "it wil be fine jas" i tell her

she bites her lip "ye..

"seriosly" i tell her "they both relly wanted to come" i wait a beet "Berk especialy"

"really?" asks jasmin orbs hopful

i nod "uh huh i think he relly wants too talk to you afte everythin thathappend"

she looks relieved but also nervos "i just dont kno what ill say to him"

"I mean at least your kind of even now" i offer her as i bite into sanwich "he turns up at youre house shot and bleeding, and you called him when you were drunk at your sleepover"

Jasmine puts her face in her hands and groans "oh no dont remind me gramarly" her words come out mufled and mortified

"oh berkY boY" asda mimics her and we descend into gigles like we goin down escalator

Jasmine gives us both a dark look "do not even dare!"

"Um hello? intereptus a voice from behind us. we turn to see two girls. one has black hair the other one... is heather. 

the black hair girl gives us a smile "hey guys sory to interpupt i am jusr here to remind you that we wil have a school dance soon"

"oh ye" says jasmin friendly "the halloowen dance right?"

the black hair girl nods enthusiastic. behind her, heather looks desidely less happy. shes on her phone, lookin bored

"wil you come?" she asks "me and heather and the comity are trying to esitmat how many peoplel are gonna turn up"

jasmine nods "i can never turn down a dance/ what about you girls"

"ill come" i say and asda shrugs. i smile and look at her slyly "hey is it ok to bring a plus one that does not go to this school?"

"sure" say the black haired girl brightly "why do you have a boyfriend not from this schppol?" she asks curosly

i smile "no but my friend over here is"i point at asda

"oh asda" ex claims the black haire girl with wide orbs "who you dating?"

From beside me Asda gives me a death glare that could kill a giant squid. then she plasters on a big smile like a bandaind "oh hi there kailee"

the girl - kailee - looks at her expectant. even heather has paused her texting, semingky intrested in whats going on

"i guess" mutters asda "that bender would like it if i invited him

Kaile lets out a squeal "omg asda!!! i always knew you should have been togethe!"

even heather looks impre ssed "nice, asda"

"yeah wel" say asda "i live for youre apporval dont i heather"

Heather rolls her eyes "Kailee i think we should goo talk to some other people"

Kailee waves us goodbye 

Jasmine is laughin softly "Kailee  went to the same middle school as us. lets just say that she gets on asda's neevres"

Asda glares at me "i would not have had to talk to her if it wasnt for you!!"

'sor!" i say "but at least bender can com to the dance ye?"

Asda shrugs "he mightnot want to.."

Jasmine snorts "please, if i know anything about bender fender, its that he loves to draw atention to himself. and what beter way to doo that than to dress up as whatever he wants, with a girl like you onhis arm"

despite herself asda smiles "he is quite egotisircal" she says with great afection "you're right hheres no way in hell  he'l miss this"

jasmine smiles "everthgin sems to be going so well! you and bender going stedy, me about to talk to berk again" she blushes like a roses "and gramarly and satan..." she trails off loking uncomfortbale "sorry gramarly"

"you'll find love " says asda kindly "eventully"

this is toomuch for me. i its been two days! and i have to tell someone

"i kissed brok!" i shout out , closing my eyes

theres silence and i peel my eyes open like an orange. Asda and jasmine stare at me in shock

"but-" begins asda lookin confused "i thought you and satan-"

"nevermind that " interputs jasmine with wide eyes "gramarly he'a youre stepbrother!!"

Asda waves this dismisvely "ye but Jas its not like their related and they didnt grow up together either. and when you get tenegars who live together not related.. i mean, brok's hot and so are you gramarly" she shrugs "its simple math"

"you cant pick who youfall for" i say with miserhy

"so you have falen for him?" asks jas slowly

i nod. Then shake my head like a snowglob "oh i dont know! i am sof conufesd!!

"wow" Breahtes Jas "and I thoghy my love life was complicated"

asda nods in agrement "your life is insane gramarly"

"so whathappened exactly" asks asda curiosly 

i groan "it just hapened... there was weird vibe betwen us and i just.. kised him" i mumble

"wow" say asda and jasmine in unison like they hamronoios choir boys

"we havent talke about it sicne" i say miserabl "its like it never hapene. we're eating breakfast togther, hes drivin me to school, he's been tutoring me. he has even been doin some self defense with me. but not a word!"

"huh" says jas "sorry gramarly. he pribaly is jus also confused"

"you should talk to him" says asda thoughuly "the thing is, if it was not your stepbrohter. you could ghost him. but you live wit him at the momen. so it wil come up eventualy. beter to talk bout it now befor it turns into biger deal like a baloon blow up!!"

"yeah i sigh "you ar eboth right probably"

"so youll talk to him?" asks jasmine

"Yeah i say. "I will talk to Brok."
