•Tanya ate alone which made Sandy confused. The latter saw her, eating her usual order. But her face wasn't normal. She couldn't understand what was happening to her as she looked emotionless.
As she was walking around the library, looking for a specific book, she saw Tanya all alone, again. She thought that maybe Anton was sick, absent or just not getting along with her those days. When she found the book she's been looking for, she sat in the corner.
Tanya saw her and Sandy wanted to ignore her but deep inside, she wanted to say hi.
After minutes of reading, Sandy found what she's been looking for. When she placed the book to where it was, she remembered a book she wanted to read.
She turned around when she felt a body close to her and then she saw Tanya facing her. The latter was trying to reach for a book. She then smelled her, "She drank?".
Tanya picked up the book and stopped from tip-toeing. Sandy and her eyes met.
"Uminom ka?" Sandy whispered.
Tanya didn't answer her and just walked back to her seat.
As Sandy's eyes followed her, she thought, "Bakit ko naman kasi tinanong".
After a long day, Sandy decided to go straight to their home.
When she entered her room, she immediately posted birthday greetings for her mother.
Helena waited for Mirna to go home after school. They went out of town to enjoy the mother's birthday which she agreed.
Her mother suddenly called her.
"Baby?"
"Ma... I'm not a baby anymore. Please?"
"You still are my baby"
"By the way, we saw Vince."
"Ma, matagal na po kaming hiwalay. Well, good for you. I haven't seen him"
"I'm just thinking if you still love him."
"Well ma, I don't na."
"Okay... I'm sorry"
"It's okay mom. Ah, kumain na po ba kayo?"
"Yes, actually nandito kami ngayon sa seaside."
"You should've come, your Tito Fidel naman ay wala dito. We're so happy naman o."
"Ma, you're making me feel bad for agreeing with you guys' plan."
"Knew it. Bye na muna. Sleep for hours, okay? Ang health, hija."
"Yes, ma."
The call ended.
After the call, she decided to buy her favorite meal to eat later after studying.
When she arrived at the restaurant, she happily ordered.
While waiting at the corner, she saw a familiar face entering the room. It was Tanya.
After ordering, Tanya saw Sandy. The former exited the room and went back with a cellphone.
Sandy confusedly looked at Tanya when she was walking near her.
"Yes?", Sandy asked.
"Your phone", Tanya then handed her the cellphone.
"Oh, my God. Where did you get this?"
"The library. Kung hindi pa dahil sa Hummer H2 na wallpaper mo, hindi ko pa malalaman na sa'yo 'yan", she said while trying to hold back her laughter.
"You really like Hummer, huh?", Tanya said and then raised her right eyebrow.
Sandy looked pissed but decided to answer calmly, "What about that?".
"Do you want a ride?", Tanya asked.
"No, thanks. I have my own car."
Tanya nodded, "Okay...".
"Ayaw mo talaga ng Hummer H2?", she added as she neared her face.
Sandy clicked her tongue, "No".
"Umalis ka na nga, ang baho mo."
"You don't like alcohol?"
"I don't"
Instead of walking away, Tanya neared her face so that Sandy can smell her more.
"I hope you're liking it now", Tanya whispered seductively to Sandy's ears.
"Ano ba, Tanya", Sandy whispered while pushing the former away from her.
Sandy decided to left the room after getting her order. She took a last glance before exiting. She saw Tanya smirking and waving her hands slowly which annoyed her.
After Tanya got her order, she decided to relax herself, somewhere she knows she can rest and just be alone.
Tanya saw the park, peaceful. There were no people. She parked her car and then sat on a bench.
She roamed her eyes around the park. She definitely missed this-her childhood.
The park was far away from the city.
Tanya and her brother would always force their parents to drive them there.
They used to get scars only in this place. They do not get along with other kids because their parents told them to do so.
She became cold-mean to everyone except to Anton after her brother got killed. She blamed herself for leaving her brother alone, if she didn't leave him, those bastards won't get to hurt and shoot him, she thought.
She also didn't get the sense of studying anymore if she won't reach her dreams with her brother, that's why she didn't enroll right after she graduated from high school.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a car beeping. She saw her mother walking toward her and she sighed.
"Tanya Valentina!, bakit hindi ka sumasagot sa mga tawag ko?"
"Nasa kotse ko po 'yung cellphone ko, mi."
"Si Anton, nasa labas ng bahay, kanina pa. Inaantay ka n'ya. Ano bang nangyayari sa inyo?"
"Nothing, mi. Uuwi na po ako, drive safe."
Tanya and her mother drove off the park and when they reached their house, her mother let them talk.
Tanya didn't bother to let him in because he was under the influence of alcohol.
"Pwede ba? Umalis ka na."
"Tanya...hindi naman totoo 'yun e."
"Anton, hindi kita kakausapin until wala ka na sa impluwensya ng alcohol."
"Tanya...kanina pa ako nag-iintay dito. Kausapin mo na ako, please?"
Anton walked near her which made Tanya move back.
"Anton, umalis ka na. Lalo mong pinapalala 'yung sitwasyon."
Tanya picked up her phone to call Anton's sister to pick him up while he was saying something inaudible."
"Bianca, please pick up your brother. Lasing na lasing"
"I'm sorry ate, thank you for calling me."
Tanya ended the call and left Anton outside their house.
Her mother saw what she did with Anton. She became more curious about how the two were acting lately.
How long would they be like this? How can their friendship last longer? It's hard for Tanya to accept his apology because she knows it can happen again and again just like what he always does.
