You sat in the waiting room, portfolio in hand. You kept tapping your foot or drumming yours fingers; you were nervous.
You were waiting for your interview for a new photography company. This company specializes with Fearless Records' bands. There were pictures of various bands around the waiting room.
Jaime was the one that told you there was a job opening and offered to put a good word in for you. Whatever he did worked because they accepted your application and asked for a follow up interview.
You looked down at the portfolio in your lap. You opened it and checked for the tenth time, to see if the pictures were still there. You brought a variety of pictures, unknowing what they were looking for. You brought mostly portraits and head shots.
"Hello, Elizabeth is it?" Said a man that seemed to appear out of nowhere. He was wearing a suit and loomed a few years older then thirty.
"Yes, hi" you said with a bright smile. You shook hands and followed him down a winding hall.
You caught a glimpse of yourself in a mirror passing by. You looked professional, you hair shiny {still pink though}, pulled back into a clean pony tail. The black pant suit only making the pink seem brighter. You seemed taller, then you remembered that you were wearing pumps.
The man lead you into a large office with massive window looking over the city. He sat down behind the massive desk and motioned for you to sit down in the chair in front. You handed him the portfolio then sat down. He gingerly flipped through the pages, pausing at the portraits.
"Well Elizabeth, I've heard some great things about you." He said, still flipping through the portfolio. "Your pictures aren't half bad either" He said.
"Thank you." You said, you were nervous and shaking. The man looked up at you, you suddenly felt hyper-aware of every inch of your body. You put make up and bracelets on your scars so they wouldn't show. You still felt lime he could see them.
"Tell me why you deserve this job." He said. Your mouth was dry but you already knew the answer. You memorized it the night before. You took a deep breath.
"Well to start I have all the qualifications that are needed. In fact I have more because I've worked in multiple different industries, such as fashion and food." You said, you were about so say more but he cut you off.
"You know that this job requires you to travel, correct?"
"Yes, sir" you said perfectly. He leaned back in his chair, thinking and looking at one of your pictures.
"You have a very similar style to our old photographer, Josiah Dien." He said. "We've also never had a recommendation directly from a band member." You made a mental note to thank Jaime after all this, even if you didn't get the job. The man rubbed his chin, contemplating on what to do next. "Are you free tomorrow? I want to see a live photo shoot." He said finally.
"Yes, I can do that." You said quickly.
"Ok so probably around 1-ish? Is that ok?" He asked beginning to write it down in a planner.
"Yes that fine." You said. Once he finished writing it down he got up.
"Its was a pleasure meeting with you. We'll stay in touch." He said extending his hand. You shook his hand and walked out of the room. While walking down the hallway you looked at your phone. You got tons of text messages from Lily, Jaime and Tony. You smiled and looked at Tony's messages first. They mostly consisted of " Good luck!" Or "You're too amazing, they're probably gonna give you the job" the final one read "I hope you get the job so you can come on tour with us." You stomach flip flopped.
