Eunhyuk remarked, "And since they're the bio type, their flame resistance is c**p," as he, Eun, and Sangwook stood over the corpse of a monster with half of its head cut off.

Unknown noises moved through the hallways, likely coming from outside, while the lights in the dimly illuminated space flickered. Eunhyuk set out to return to the stairwell and think about his next move. The boy and a few survivors in the lobby were sick of hanging around doing nothing, so they started trying to clear floors to scavenge for food and other necessities. They had so far reached the fourth floor and had amassed a sizable supply of food.

Soon after Eunhyuk disappeared from their line of sight, Sangwook and Eun pursued, dodging the cut-up and burnt monster.

"Where did he learn that strange language?" Sangwook inquired while looking in Eun's direction.

"Videogames. We need to get Jiwon here, so she can translate" Eun sighed, glancing at her brother who was now walking in front of her.

Jiwon sneezed as she entered the bathroom on the fourteenth floor. The girl scowled as she inspected herself in the mirror to see if the shoulder pain she had previously felt was still there. She pushed her hair out of the way and took off her baggy shirt, leaving her in a black tank top. As she looked at her arm, she was expecting to spot a gash, a bruise, or at the very least some damage. It almost seemed as though the pain she had previously experienced was a hallucination as she ran her opposite hand over her arm and felt no injuries.

She chose to leave her large shirt off due to the heat and splashed some water on her face, but as she went to leave the bathroom, she felt something trickle down her nose. A trail of crimson was coming out of her nose as she slowly turned back to the mirror. When she raised her hand to brush it away, more blood spilled out of her nose. In an attempt to halt the blood loss, she leaned her head over the sink, clutched the edge of the sink with one hand, and plugged her nose with the other.

"The food is almost ready, Jiwon!" Outside the door, she heard her brother speaking loudly.

Her hands and lower face were now covered in blood as she attempted to respond while sounding congested.

"Give me five minutes," she said, turning her face towards the door.

Jaeheon said, his voice growing fainter, "Okay".

Jiwon noticed that as she turned to face herself in the mirror, her eyes were completely dark, and she felt as though her brain was suddenly being compressed.

She muttered, "F***," as the room started to spin, and bright lights flashed in her eyes before the room started to get darker. In an effort to halt the whirling, she leaned against the back wall.

As a pair of shoes that were an exact match to her own came closer and stood in front of Jiwon, she looked down at her hands that had not been darkened to ground herself. When she turned to look at the person wearing the shoes, she noticed it was herself with black eyes, a clean body, and wearing the same clothes. The entity that was just like her placed a hand on Jiwon's shoulder and gave it a little squeeze.

"Do you genuinely believe you can keep those kids safe? Especially when you weren't even able to protect—" the entity stated while grinning and pouting mockingly.

Jiwon said angrily, "Stop," as a well-known sight appeared in front of her.

Two kids walked side by side down a sidewalk while donning the same red winter coats. As snowflakes dropped from the sky, cars hurriedly sped past them. The sky was stark white with grey streaks running through it.

Jiwon begged for a stop louder than before, knowing what was about to take place.

The pedestrian crossing sign lit up as the two kids arrived at the intersection and started to cross. After telling the boy that she was chilly, the young girl started to move much more quickly, causing a significant distance between the two. The little boy turned to look at a black car approaching the intersection after hearing a honk. Despite the fact that there was a red light, it appeared to be speeding up. If it didn't stop, it would definitely hit the oblivious little girl. As the distance grew smaller, the little boy panicked.

The boy shouted, "Jiwon, move out of the way!"

Jiwon stared at the young boy in the memory and whispered, "Jihoon," her eyes filling with tears.

Jiwon's ears were instantly filled with a loud screeching sound; the car was hurtling recklessly in the direction of the two children. Jiwon quickly closed her hoping to make it stop.

The young boy ran forwards and forcefully shoved the young girl.

Closing her eyes didn't seem to be enough to prevent her from seeing the sight that she had spent her entire life attempting to block out.

The time seemed to slow as the little boy was hit by the car and his body was hurled across the road.

Jiwon held her breath.

The car stopped, then accelerated into the distance. The little girl was perplexed, but when she approached the small boy, her expression twisted into one of dread. She shook the small boy's body while screaming, "Jihoon!" The girl's screams got louder as blood smeared the snow on the ground.

The image went dark as a car stopped next to the two children.

The entity, who was now in front of Jiwon, stated, "I know you want to forget. Give me control and I'll do it for you.

"Go away!" Jiwon shouted while clutching her head and fiercely closing her eyes.

Her head was suddenly no longer constricted, and she heard a knock at the door. She became aware that she was curled up on the bathroom floor as her eyesight cleared.

"Hey, are you all right?" As he leaned near the door, Hyunsoo asked. The remainder of the floor remained engrossed in their tasks.

Hyunsoo pushed his weight on the door as it slowly opened, forcing him to tumble toward it. But just as he began to fall, he was yanked inside the bathroom by an arm.

He nervously turned to face Jiwon as she wiped the blood from her face while whispering.

"How on earth are you still not a monster?" Jiwon said, whispering.

For a while, Hyunsoo appeared hesitant as he cautiously cast a peek around him before turning to face the girl again.

He responded, "I don't know," which prompted Jiwon to sigh.

"You can't tell them," Jiwon grumbled at the boy.

"Okay. Uh—. The food is ready" Hyunsoo replied while rubbing the back of his neck.

As Hyunsoo stepped out of the bathroom, Jiwon said, "I'll be there in a minute."

Jiwon quickly cleaned up her blood before disposing of the tissues and leaving the bathroom.
