Seraphina was relaxing on the beach in Hawaii. The warm sun hitting her skin, washing over her. She was thankful for her daylight ring that sat on her middle finger on her right hand. She sat up to take a drink of her Mai Tai when her phone started to ring. She looked at the caller. Damon Salvatore.

"Yes Damon. How can I help you?" She asked sarcastically with a smile on her face. There was a small chuckle on the other side.

"Well hello to you too, Ms. Cross. I have a generalized question for you," Damon said in an interesting way,

"Are you asking as a friend, or because I'm also a 1,000 year old heretic and you're fishing for information?" she asked. Damon tried to brush her question off.

"Well, it's just because you're my friend and... and, I have no excuse other than I have a question," he said. Seraphina giggled and said okay.

"How sure are you that Katherine was sealed in the tomb?" He asked her. Her smile faded and she sat up further in her chair.

"Damon, why?" she asked. She was worried because she was sure Katherine was sealed in the tomb in 1864.

"Well, lets just say I see a girl here that has an uncanny resemblance to Katherine," He said. Seraphina had a confused look on her face. She had heard of Doppelgangers but she had never witnessed one. She knew that Katherine was one, given that Niklaus rambled on and on about needing one of the Petrova bloodlines to break his Hybrid curse.

"Damon are you a hundred percent sure she is Katherine?" she asked him. She heard a sigh on the other end.

"Well, I only just arrived in Mystic Falls and I haven't had a chance to see my brother. I don't know if he thinks she's Katherine but, tonight I will find out," Damon said in his normal, sinister voice. Seraphina shook her head.

"Okay well, when you do, let me know," She said. The two said their goodbyes and hung up. She went back to her condo she bought and changed into a skirt and a sweater top. She walked over to her book shelf and skimmed over the names. She didn't have all of her books and Grimoires. All of the ones she had here were just some she picked up. All of her original ones were in Mystic Falls at her house.

She was nervous because if a new Doppelganger had emerged then a lot of things would start to happen. The Salvatore brothers would fight over her like they did with Katherine and it could push them over the edge and she would have to be the one to mitigate between them. If Niklaus found out, he would stop everything he was doing and go straight to Mystic Falls. The other option would be that she would be turned into a vampire and no more Doppelgangers would come to be. That is, if she doesn't have a kid.

This was everything she knew about the Doppelgangers and how to stop the creation of them. She learned a lot of the thousands of years she has lived. She did have a feeling she would be roped into this. Only because she was the only Heretic Damon and Stefan knew of. Granted she didn't keep in contact with Stefan so he wouldn't know how to reach her. Only Damon knew.

She couldn't find the book she wanted so she gave up and sat on the couch next to her window and looked out over the ocean. She had traveled and met so many people in her lifetime. She knew so many things that she didn't even tell Damon. She wondered if this was a new doppelganger, how would she be able to manage the two boys. If they were anything like when they were in 1864, it would be so much worse. They were vampires so everything was heightened.

She was so drowned in her thoughts, she almost didn't hear her phone ring. She grabbed her phone and saw it was Damon.

"Hello?" She asked. There was a loud sigh on the other end.

"Well, it is definitely not Katherine," Damon said. Seraphina looked out over the ocean.

"What do you need me to do?" She asked him. She didn't want to offer her services if she didn't need to.

"You may need to come home. It's pretty interesting here in Mystic Falls now Sera," He said. She sighed.

"I'll be there," she said and hung up. She stayed away from there for 162 years. The Founders tried to kill all the vampires. Now, Damon wanted her to go back. She shook her head and went into her room. As she packed her stuff, she had a nervous feeling telling her this was just the beginning.
