I awake to the phone in our hotel room ringing off the hook. Sav groans and reaches over to answer it. I turn on the lamp next to our bed.

"What?!" Sav bursts, sitting up immediately. I give him a questioning look.

"We will be there as soon as we can." Sav says into the phone before hanging up.

"Who was that? What's happened?" I question.

"It's Declan. He's having seizures and they took him to the emergency room." Sav says, frantically pulling on his clothes.

I freeze for a moment before pulling on my clothes myself. This can't be happening.

At the speed of light, we rush to the emergency room. We find a frazzled Steve and Georgia when we get there.

Georgia gets up and hugs me, bawling.

"Oh Emma I'm so sorry I don't know what happened. He- he just started shaking." Georgia sobs, leaving me to be the comforter.

"It's okay, Georgia. What have they said about him?" I ask.

"They aren't sure what caused the seizures, but he's fine." Steve assures. Sav and I sigh in relief.

"Where is he?"

"They're running a few more tests." Steve said.

Just as we sat down in the waiting area, a doctor with a white coat came out.

"Family of Declan Savage?" He calls, and Sav and I walk over, his hand gripping mine nervously.

"We're his parents."

"Declan is doing fine. We're thinking it was just some kind of one-off thing. If it happens again, we'll explore other possibilities. There's no brain damage or imbalances. We're going to hold him overnight just to be safe." The doctor spoke.

"So he'll be okay?" Sav asks.

"Yes, he will be just fine. No signs of Dravet syndrome or any life threatening diseases."

Sav and I hug each other tightly in relief as the doctor is walking away. We walk over to Steve and Georgia, informing them of what he just said.

"Oh, thank God." Georgia breathed.

Phil, Rick and Joe appeared in the waiting room not long after, carrying bags of fast food.

"We thought you guys could use a pick me up." Joe said, handing a bag to each person.

"Thank you." I smile. I pick out one of the fries and crunch on it as the others are being filled in on the circumstances.

Sav is doing the nervous knee shaking thing he does when something is stressing him out, so I slowly put a hand on his leg to help relieve him. He gives me a faint smile before interlocking his hand with mine.

"Well, besides this craziness, have you guys enjoyed your weekend away?" Phil asks, cutting the sad tension in the room.

A blush arose to my cheeks as I remember the events of the last few days. I glance over at a smirking Sav.

"Yeah, you could say that." I laugh, glancing at the floor. "It's been really nice to just have some alone time."

"Oh, you broke in the hotel bed I see." Joe winks. Laughing and shaking my head, I get up to get some water.

I can hear them talking amongst themselves as the cool liquid coats my dry throat.

A hand brushing over the small of my back startled me, breaking me out of my thoughts. A familiar head of blonde hair stands next to me, guilt and empathy burning in his eyes.

"I'm sorry for this, truly. I'm sure you guys will never want to leave him with us again." Steve pouts, his lower lip poking out.

"Steve, it's not your fault. These things just happen." I engulf him in a tight hug. He lightly cries on my shoulder, but pulls away and wipes the tears away, flashing his signature smile.

"A story to tell the grandkids, I guess." He jokes.

I place my hand on his shoulder and walk back to the others. Sav leans in next to my ear, his hot breath fanning it. "Is Steve okay?" He murmurs.

I nod, whispering to him. "Yes, he's just blaming himself for this." We glance over to Steve, who is now laying across Georgia's lap with an arm over his eyes to block out the harsh white lights. She's stroking his hair softly while maintaining her conversation with Joe and Phil. Rick is dozed off beside them, an his arm behind his head as a pillow, and his mouth parted slightly.

Hours passed, and we were finally able to see Declan. The nurse lead us to a children's room and there laid our little guy, helpless.

"My baby...." I say in a low tone. I pick him up immediately, careful not to remove the wires connected to him. I place a soft kiss on his forehead. Sav is glued to my side, stroking Declan's face.

"I hate seeing him like this." Sav turns and faces the door for a moment before turning back around. He hates hospitals, and I do too.

"Why don't you go home and freshen up. I can take him from here." I suggest.

"No, I can't leave you here."

"Everyone is still in the waiting room. Send Georgia in, I'll be fine."

He sighs, about to protest, but he just simply nods and gives me a kiss before heading out the door to go take a shower at home.
