My arms were wrapped around the nape of Nasir's neck. He lifted my thighs and harnessed them around his waist. Our kiss deepened with each second. His tongue evading between my lips.

He walked slowly towards his bed and tossed me on my back. He nestled his body between my thighs, still kissing me slowly and deeply. Biting my bottom lip once more, he pulled away gently.

He came up for air as he stroked my cheek with the back of his right hand. "You good?" His raspy voice soothed my beating heart and my throbbing core. I was tongue tied and unable to speak for a moment.

"What? You can't speak now?" He laughed as he hovered over my body, still. I stared at his lips, then the tip of his nose, back to his pupils. I caressed his forearm with my fingertips, gliding them slowly up and down his soft skin.

"I'm—I'm okay." I stuttered over my words. This isn't like me. I've never been this reserved around anyone. Not even my ex. His aura was warm and inviting but intimidating and strong. I couldn't place a finger on it even if I tried.

"Can I continue?" Nasir licked his lips while staring at mine. I looked at the ceiling above us and then focused my eyes back on him.

"I think I should get going. My mom's shift is almost over." I tapped his left arm. He leaned back and stood on both of his feet, assisting me up and out of his bed.

"It is getting kind of late, huh?" Nas seemed like he was disappointed. I wanted to restrain myself from doing anything outrageous with him. My core continued throbbing as I walked through the narrow hallway of his apartment.

I spotted my boots by the door and made my way towards them. "Can I walk you back?" He asked me with such an innocence about him. I would be a fool to turn down the offer, especially at this time of night.

"I'd like that." I said as I bent over to put my boots on. He grabbed my wool coat from the dining chair and placed it over my shoulders. He slipped into his Timberland boots and threw a pullover hoodie over his waves.

"Let's go."

Nasir shut the door to his unit behind him and walked with me side by side down the stairs in which we came up from. "So you're on the second floor?" He asked inquisitively. "Yeah." I replied.

His shoulder crashed into mine a few times as we were walking down the stairs. I reached inside of my tote and grabbed my keys from the bottom of my bag. Nasir watched me as I twisted the key inside of the keyhole and opened the door slowly.

"Thanks for dinner." I said as I looked up at him while standing behind my front door. "It's nothing." He said as he motioned his hand with his words. "You think I can get your number before you close the door on me?" He popped his head in the crack of my front door.

I laughed at the goofy face he was making. "I don't have a beeper or anything like that. I'm saving up for one." I answered honestly.

"Can I at least get your home number?" Nasir pouted his bottom lip childishly. He fixed his face quickly after feeling some sort of self embarrassment.

I turned towards the side table by the front door where the landline was plugged into the wall. Next to it was a pad of sticky notes and two pens that my mom would keep nearby to write important names and numbers down. I scribbled our home number on the sticky note and stuck it on Nasir's left hand through the cracked door.

He took it off of his hand and read it back to himself out loud. He folded the paper and placed it in the pouch of his pullover hoodie.

"I'll hit you soon, aight?" He said with a serious face. "Goodnight, Nas." I said seductively behind the door. He leaned his head through the crack and kissed my forehead softly before turning his back to walk up the stairs case, back to his apartment.
