"She's not even trying to get close to other people.."
Jungkook observed the girl from afar, her curly hair sitting on top of her head, round glasses perched on her nose.
Jeon Jungkook was eighteen, currently a high school senior.
He wasn't one to take school seriously or even try at all, having no motivation to do any of that when future was already an uncertain thing.
As a matter of fact, he didn't think he'd last long enough in this world to have to worry about such things.
He came to school because he had to, not to build himself a future, nor interact with people or whatever reason other people came to school for.
He had absolutely no purpose to be there.
But that changed when she walked in the classroom two months ago : Cherry Valentine-Petran.
Her last name sounded like something straight out of a novel, so did her appearance.
She looked like a doll, to put it simply.
Soft facial features, doe eyes and plump heart-shaped lips with chubby cheeks that always looked plumper as she supported her head on her fist.
Her brown skin always looked so smooth, when she entered the classroom, everyone could take a whiff of her perfurme.
It wasn't unbearable to the point of making you cough, rather, it was an enjoyable strawberry-like scent.
She was easily considered to be one of the prettiest girl in school, her popularity increasing with how good her grades were.
Her uniform was always thoroughly flat-ironed, her glasses fit perfectly on face and her hair was always up in a bun. Though she didn't seem to particularly take care of the way her bun appeared, it always looked stylishly messy.
That was only in school, though, because after her fellow schoolmates found her socials, they knew that outside, she was even prettier than what she showed them within the school's building.
However, with one good thing came a bad one and for Cherry Valentine, it was the social ability.
She has been there for two months, yet, no one dared to approach her.
She either seemed intimading, or people decided to hate her by pure jealousy.
It's not like she was trying to get close to people either, not at all.
She just stayed in her corner, letting the days pass by with her earphones plugged in her ears, not reacting to anything she possibly heard about her, whether it was rumors or people straight up direspecting her right in her face.
That intrigued Jungkook.
How calm and composed she remained in any situation, when anyone else would've lost their cool.
Her beauty what was attracted him first, but the mystery Cherry Valentine was truly kept him from having a crush on anyone else.
"Indeed she doesn't, must be why she's so peaceful.." He replied, chin propped on his hand as he admired his crush from afar.
"There he goes again, Cherry's dickrider." Mingyu scoffed, looking back and forth between his friend and the person he was looking at.
She was peacefully doodling in her notebook, her index tapping her cheek on the beat of whatever she was listening to.
"Just talk to her, you look pathetic just staring like a lost puppy like that."
"What should I even talk to her about ? I don't want to disturb her peace." Jungkook answered.
One of the reasons he never truly approached her was probably because he knew nothing about her, hence, trying to strike a conversation probably wouldn't be easy.
Other people had try to talk to Cherry Valentine, however, she seemed to detach herself from conversations fast.
Jungkook would hate for that to happen to him.
"If you don't disturb it even a little, you'll never get the occasion to be her peace." Mingyu said with a shrug, observing his friend's reaction.
Jungkook pursed his lips, observing her for a few seconds before releasing them with a small pop sound as he stood up.
"Oh, you're going for real ?" Mingyu asked, looking at his friend from above his glasses.
"Nope, I have a better idea." He answered, leaving the classroom. "I'll be back before class starts."
He left on these words, hands in his pockets as he calmly walked to the other side of the hallway, reaching the vending machine and grabbing a box of strawberry milk.
He quickly headed back, waving at the girls who greeted him on his way.
See, Jungkook's looks made him quite popular as well and though he had no interest in these girls, he always politely greeted them back.
He quickly got back into the classroom and confidently walked to Cherry's desk, borrowing the chair in front of it as its owner wasn't here yet.
"Cherry ?"
She took off one of her earphones, looking at him with question marks in her eyes.
Now that he was seeing her upclose, she looked even prettier.
But her beaty never scared him, unlike other people.
"I often see you by yourself and I just want to tell you that.. If you ever feel like you want to be with someone else, I'm always here." He explained with a gentle smile, sliding the starberry milk on her desk. "This is for you, hopefully to the start of a great friendship."
He had to say, she looked more surprised than he thought, her eyes opening a bit wider as she looked at the little pink and white box on her desk like it was the greatest gift someone has ever gave her.
"That's.. Very nice, thank you.. I'll make sure to come to you if I need company." She answered with a small smile, piercing the follicule with the straw.
Her voice, fuck.
It was so calm and gentle, a little breathy but not in an uncomfortable manner.
Whatever mix it was, Jungkook was hooked on it, couldn't get enough of her soothing aura, her plump lips slightly pouty as she drank from the straw.
He had two options : go away or keep the momentum and take the discussion further.
But one quick look at Mingyu and he knew what choice to make.
"So.. What are you listening to ?"
