When I woke up, i still had my blanket, which was odd considering mother usually took it while I was sleeping but that is unimportant. What is important was my younger sister: Katherine.
I walked up to her room, opened the door and saw her sleeping soundly in the crib our mother handmade for her.
I walked back downstairs, grabbed a little drawstring bag and walked out the door to grab some food. We were running low after all.
As I passed through the market, I saw a multitude of differently coloured stalls. Some sold silver knives, while others sold golden jewelry. I made my way over to the bakery to buy some bread when someone grabbed me by the arm and dragged me behind the bakery.
Suddenly, that person was kissing me. I tried to move away but they were older and stronger than me. Suddenly, I was nude and-

As I stumbled home I felt worthless, like Katherine was better off without me. Tears ran down my face as blood seeped down my legs. "Mommy?" I asked when I walked in, but no response. That's when I realized that she was gone, and nobody can help me.
