The waves crashed on the beach as I sat in the sand staring off out into the water.
"Dove, come on we're going in!" My brother Wade yelled out. I turned back to see him walking with his two closest friends.
I stood up leaving my imprint in the sand behind. My brother and his closest friend Troy started walking in, but Finnick, he always waited behind for me.
"How are you feeling little Dove? Are you ready for this years reaping?" He asked keeping his eyes ahead as we walked.
"My names only in there once, I'm more worried about the three of you." I said and Finnick gave a small straight smile. This was my first year, and his third.
"Don't worry too much, we'll be alright." He said giving me a playful nudge.
That was the last time I had spoken a word to Finnick O'dair. He was reaped in those games, and to no surprise he came home not the same boy.
