Young Y/N Burgess straightened out her black long skirt as she tightened the white buttoned up long sleeve dress shirt as she and her brother Alex Burgess went to the door.

Y/N stood on the wall beside the door, patiently watching as Alex cracked open the door to reveal an old man standing on the porch of their fathers mansion. He wore a black suit along with a black bowling hat.

"Oh. Good afternoon, lad. My name is Doctor John Hathaway." Said Dr.Hathaway as he looked down at Alex.

Alex tilted his head slightly.

"Of the Royal Museum?" Said Dr.Hathaway quickly as he saw the tilt of Alex's head

"Are you here to see the Magus?" Asked Alex as he looked up at Dr.Hathaway. Y/N just sighed at the name their father wanted to be called.

"Well, I've come to see Mister Roderick Burgess." Dr,Hathaway said with a bit of a stutter as he looked down at Alex.

Alex looked at him for a second longer before closing the door, unlocking the chain that kept the door from opening any more than just a few inches, before opening it all the way and stepping aside, letting Dr.Hathaway step inside.

Y/N quickly walked next to Alex and slightly bowed to greet the Doctor.

"Father likes to be called 'Magus'." Alex said as he looked up at the old man, receiving a slightly tilted head.

"It means sorcerer." Said Y/N quickly as she saw Dr.Hathaway's head tilt.

Dr.Hathaway nodded before taking off his black bowling hat and walking into the mansion.
Y/N and Alex would start to walk Dr.Hathaway through the house. Y/N would look back every now and then to see Dr.Hathaway looking and touching object around the house.

They soon walked past a room, the door was open, letting  chanting be heard in the hallway. Dr.Hathaway looked into the room.

"Here in the darkness...Here in the darkness...Here in the darkness" people in green cloaks chanted in the room as they did some type of ritual.

Dr.Hathaway was about to step forward to get a better look into the room, before a ma in a suit walked out, slightly closing the door behind him.

"The Magus will receive his guest in the study, Alex and Y/N." Said Mr.Sykes, a fine and well mannered man who worked in the mansion said.

"Yes, Mr.Sykes." Said both Y/N and Alex at the same time as they started walking Dr.Hathaway to a different part of the house.

Y/N opened a door to a room, stepping aside so Dr.Hathaway and everyone else could walk in.

Alex walked into the room before turning to Dr.Hathaway.

"Have you come to join fathers order? The order of Ancient Mysteries." Asked Alex as he looked up at Dr.Hathaway.

Dr.Hathaway was about to answer Alex before their father, Roderick Burgess, walked into the room, his cane making a banging sound on the hard wood tiled floor as he walked towards Dr.Hathaway.

"Dr.Hathaway, what an unexpected pleasure." Said father, before turning to Alex and Y/N.

"Y/N, Alex, tea for our guest." Father said sternly as he used his cane to point to a corner of the room. Alex and Y/N walked to the corner.

"Why is Dr.Hathaway here..." said Y/N quietly as she set water in a kettle to boil. "I am not sure Y/N. I think it could do with Dr.Hathaway's son, Edmunds, death. I only just heard this morning that his son had died recently." Said Alex as he reached up into the cabinet, grabbing the tea as he put it onto the small counter top next to the tea kettle.
